Well i was talking with my dad tonight, and he was talking about when i get married (which isnt going to be for a while, as i am only 19) and we were discussing what song i would use as my wedding song. I have had my wedding song picked out for ages. Dad hates it, and he wants me to have some slow and romantic song, but i am not into all that stuff. So i chose an MCR song. It isnt really romantic, but if you knew my wedding plan you would understand why it works. I am not having a traditional wedding. I am having a cabarae style wedding, with the black dresses, the dancers, and stuff, but i wont tell you where i am having it, because people flip out when i tell them that. I just hope my future husband (hopefully Gerard) will agree with my dream wedding. Anyway, back on topic, what do you think is a good wedding song, and why? Or what did you use as your wedding song? Or what do you want to use?
Here is mine-
We could be perfect one last night And die like star crossed lovers when we fight And we can settle this affair If you would shed your yellow Take my hand and then We'll solve the mystery of laceration gravity This riddle of revenge Please understand that it has to be this way and Stand Up f*cking tall Don't let them see your back and Take My f*cking hand And never be afraid again We've only got one chance to put things at an end And cross the patron saint of switchblade fights You said We're not celebrities We spark and fade They die by threes I'll make you Understand And you can trade me for an apparation Stand Up f*cking tall Don't let them see your back and Take My f*cking hand And never Trust You said, who put the words in your head Oh, how wrong we were to think That immortality meant never dying

I've always want "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica as my wedding song. When I was 19 and planning the wedding that could not be to the guy I wish didn't exist, I found a Metallica cover band that does it completely with and Orchestra and with no lyrics. I want to walk down the isle while that version is playing and have my first dance to the original version.
So close, no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are and nothing else matters
Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say and nothing else matters
Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us something new Open mind for a different view and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do never cared for what they know but I know
So close, no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are and nothing else matters
never cared for what they do never cared for what they know but I know
Never opened myself this way Life is ours, we live it our way All these words I don't just say
Trust I seek and I find in you Every day for us, something new Open mind for a different view and nothing else matters
never cared for what they say never cared for games they play never cared for what they do never cared for what they know and I know
So close, no matter how far Couldn't be much more from the heart Forever trusting who we are No, nothing else matters

I'll still be loving..I'll still be loving you... ORRRRRR... Bryan Adams - Please Forgive Me Lyrics It still feels like our first night together Feels like the first kiss and It's gettin' better baby No one can better this I'm still hold on and you're still the one The first time our eyes met it's the same feelin' I get Only feels much stronger and I wanna love ya longer You still turn the fire on So If you're feelin' lonely.. don't You're the only one I'd ever want I only wanna make it good So if I love ya a little more than I should Please forgive me I know not what I do Please forgive me I can't stop lovin' you Don't deny me This pain I'm going through Please forgive me If I need ya like I do Please believe me Every word I say is true Please forgive me I can't stop loving you Still feels like our best times are together Feels like the first touch We're still gettin' closer baby Can't get close enough I'm still holdin' on You're still number one I remember the smell of your skin I remember everything I remember all your moves I remember you I remember the nights ya know I still do One thing I'm sure of Is the way we make love And the one thing I depend on Is for us to stay strong With every word and every breath I'm prayin' That's why I'm sayin'... ------------------------ I think we're leaning towards the Restless Heart song though...July 10, 2009

That Restless Heart song is wonderful, please forgive me doesn't seem like much of a "wedding Song" maybe a make up after first fight song, but i guess it depends on context.

I've never thought about it that way...It's just appropriate in our context. I read it as someone loving someone else A LOT!! So much that it hurts. But like I said. I think we're going with the Restless Heart song. It's very beautiful, and sounds even better. I can't wait for the wedding. East coast weddings are a friggen blast. I can't wait to be the groom for one

I played Ou Lady of Sorrows to my dad, and he dosent think i chose a good wedding song, but like i said, i have got my wedding all planned, and that song is part of the plan. I dont care if people dont like the swearing, i mean, they wont really be paying attention to the song.
Has anyone been to a wedding where they played that traditional bridal music? I have never been to a wedding with that traditional song.

No i dont have a fiance on hand yet, but thats becuase my current partner (if you can call him that) and i both agree we are too young, and he agress we should have that song, if we ever got married. Which is cool. But at the moment we, well i dont know what we are, i love it.
Oh i didnt think of them relatives that i never see, they will notice the swearing. Well maybe i will change eventually, but i still think i will have an MCR song, those guys saved my life, i love them, heck i got 2 MCR tat's, so i am definatly using one of the songs for my wedding.

Well i laughed, because i actually pictured walking down the isle to 'I Dont Love You' i dont think the annoying relatives would really appreciate that one either.
My older brother used this song 'Breathe' by Faith Hill (i think) when he and his wife got married.
We were all listening to MCR last night, it was great, my dad, both my brothers, my brothers wife and myself and we were trying to find a song, well we have settled on two of them- 'Demolition Lovers' and 'The Sharpest Lives'

That's so weird that everyone has their wedding songs picked out already like that. I'm 20 and that is like the furthest thing from my mind...sure I plan on getting married one day but I figure that when I get engaged and pick a date is when I'll start worrying about wedding songs. I think "First Day of My Life" by Bright Eyes would be a pretty cool wedding song, though.
Canon in D is used alot for weddings and I like it better than the traditional "Here Comes the Bride" song...I always found that song to be WAY too jaring..like everything's all calm and then all of the sudden "DUM DUM DA DA DUM!" ...it just ruins the mood.

Well i am 19, but i have had mine picked since 2002, even though i know i wont be married for some time.
And i agree totally with the traditional 'Here Comes The Bride' thing, because a few weddings i have been to have had it, and i just cracked up when it started, which probably ruined the mood even more.
Well my original pick, which i still want, but doubt i will be allowed to use because of the relatives, is really heavy, but the again, if you knew me, then you would know i am not having a traditional wedding at all, no-one in the wedding party will be wearing white, i am not getting married in a church, hall or fancy garden, i plan to get married at midnight under a full moon, in a ???? well i wont tell where because people tend to think i am pshyco if i say where i want to get married.
Dad has one song picked that i NEED to play at my wedding, it is called 'Butterfly Kisses' by some guy, i dont know what it is and i have never heard it, but apparently i need to have that song in there somewhere for him, but who knows maybe he will be over it by the time i get married. Then again i doubt he will because he has been saying i AM HAVING that song at my weddint ever since i was little, before i even thought about boys in that way! So i guess that is a song i will HAVE to play. Can someone help me out with what it is? Because i am looking for it in JB where i work, but i cant find it because dad is being a pain and wont tell me who sings it.

I know why he won't tell you: it's because it's a country song...I really don't like that song at all and I doubt you would either...I could be wrong though.

MCR, you listen to your Daddy. Here are the lyrics: There's two things I know for sure She was sent here from heaven and she's Daddy's little girl As I drop to my knees by her bed at night She talks to Jesus and I close my eyes And I thank God for all of the joy in my life Oh, but most of all for..
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair "Walk beside the pony Daddy, it's my first ride I know the cake looks funny Daddy but I sure tried" Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right To deserve a hug every morning and butterfly kisses at night
Sweet sixteen today And she's lookin' like her mamma a little more every day One part woman, the other part girl To perfume and make-up, from ribbons and curls Trying her wings out in a great big world But I remember...
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair You know how much I love you Daddy But if you don't mind I'm only gonna kiss you on the cheek this time Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right To deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses at night
Oh the precious times Oh, like the wind the years go by Precious butterfly Spread your wings and fly
She'll change her name today and she'll make a promise and I'll give her away Standing in the bride room just staring at her She asked me what I'm thinking and I said "I'm not sure, I just feel like I'm losing my baby girl" And she leaned over...and gave me...
Butterfly kisses with her mamma there Stickin' little white flowers all up in her hair "Walk me down the aisle Daddy, it's just about time Does my wedding gown look pretty Daddy? Daddy don't cry" Oh, with all that I've done wrong, I must have done something right To deserve her love every morning and butterfly kisses
I couldn't ask God for more Man, this is what love is I know I've gotta let her go, but I'll always remember Every hug in the morning and butterfly kissesThat's a perfect song for your Father/Daughter dance, if you're going to have such a thing. And even if it is a country song, sometimes you just do things for other people even if it's not your choice, because you love them and their feelings are important to you. Know what I mean?

Country- URGH! Well it will be a while before i get married, i am on a mission now to hear the song, once i hear it i will know if it is getting played or not, and if i dont like it, then we will have to come to an agreement!
Your right, i know why he wouldnt tell me, becuase he knows i cant stand country and RnB, everything else i can kind of tolerate.
I will go and see if he has it in his CD collection.

No i found it, it was the first CD in his cabinet in his bedroom, he isnt here anyway. I will put it back and NEVER listen to it again.
I guess if he still really wants it i will do it for him, as long as we can comprimise and he dances to an MCR song, because i am playing an MCR song at my wedding no matter what.
I really dont like that song, anyone know any good, not so slow and country songs with the same 'daddys little girl' message in it.
But like i said in 10 or more years when i do get married i will put it in there for him, if he still wants it, just because my dad is all i have had since my mum decided she didnt love her family and went away.

I honestly can't think of any that aren't country songs...except really inappropriate songs...like "Caress Me Down" by Sublime...that says something about his daughter doesn't it? lol

Hmmm i dont think that will work.
Oh well, it is years away, im sure we can work something out, something that involves my kind of music. Because dad loves my wedding plans, he actually wants them to go ahead, and dosent want me to have a boring traditional wedding, so that is one good thing.

I don't care where I get married but I wouldn't really like it to be in a church...I think an outside wedding would be nice. But I'm definitely rocking my p.j.'s.
