Yangtze No More

Hopefully, this will open our eyes to what we're killing off now. If it didn't take the Tasmanian Wolf to make us think twice, the Yellow River Dolphin may.

Good day Flynn_17
I had heard about this also and it is a tragedy.
I've recently written a few quizzes on wildlife in France and I'm shocked to see how many of the animals I've written about are in danger or on the brink of extinction.
Very sad
Regards
Robin

The extinction of a fellow mammal has certainly captured everyone's imaginations here (tongue in cheek)
No the demise of a soap opera character will always far more important.

How tragic are we(humans)?

There have been more sightings and there are plans for an effort to move the survivors to a more protected waterway. The remaining gene pool is apparently small but this would not be the first time that such efforts have been successful. The Nene (Hawaiian goose) was recovered from a tiny handful of survivors and there have been quite a few other examples of animals thought extinct but rediscovered later. I and others are not ready to give up on this dolphin yet.
