I am currently reading the Narnia series by C.S. Lewis and Once An Eagle by Anton Myrer.

I recently finished The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings, I hadn't read it yet and I wanted to get to it before the movie comes out.

Also recently, I have read and enjoyed The Golden Compass series by Pulman.

Reading the Harry Potter Books got me hooked into catching up on some children/youth books that I missed reading before. It is entirely possible that, in the case of Pulman, they weren't written when I was a youth.

I just finished The Practice Effect by David Brin. Fun read, more humorous than most of his. I think I have 3 books to go and I will have read all of his.

Hi. I've just finished reading 'Harry Potter and the Philospher's stone'. The thing is, I actually enjoyed it. Sally who lent it to me, read it in one whole day, whilst it took me several weeks. The story is one big act of misdirection and the very last chapter changes everything that previously went on throughout the book.
Sarafina said that reading the Harry Potter books made her want to read other children novels she had missed when she was younger. I had felt the same thing. When I finished Philospher's Stone I thought I'd also like to read the Narnia Chronicles set. I've now started to read 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets'. I wonder what events are waiting for me in there....

I'm currently immersed in Sex Lives by Mark Baker. He's a journalist who interviewed about 100 people from the baby-boom generation, and then compiled their responses in this really interesting and involving book. I also highly recommend what is possibly his best known work, Nam. It changed the way I viewed war and the military.

Replying to this in order to get the screen back to normal! (Marshmallowsruletheworld, your name is cute, but it's a bit too long for the forums; it causes the screen to "bunch up" - we need you to change it to a shorter name, I'm afraid. Thanks! )

As for what I'm reading at the moment, I have a great book going right now with knights, ladies, evil castle owners and lots of great romance!

I'm reading "The Light Fantastic" by Terry Pratchett at the moment. I'm in a "read all the pratchett I can" mood right now.

Linda what's the title of that lovely book?
I'm looking to read a good book right now, but haven't visited the bookstore or library in quite some time. I'm reading some science fiction short stories from I Sing the Body Electric by Ray Bradbury and The Early Asimov, Part I. I *love* short stories, but novels are more fun to escape into.
