I sing Cabaret in the shower...I also sing Ray Charles songs, and just different songs that pop into my head...another song I sing in the shower alot is "Nothing Compares To You"...but the Me First and the Gimme Gimme's version..not that it's really any different.

I sing anytime i'm bored, whether it be in the shower, in the car, walking across my college's campus, where ever. My favorite shower selections are mostly from musicals, esp. Phantom, RENT, and Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. I also find myself belting random 80's rock ranging from "Stairway to Heaven" to "Dancin' With Myself" to "Crazy in the Night." I also occasionally find myself singing lots of Billy Joel songs and occasionally things like "White Rabbit." I am actually pretty good at singing considering that I can't read music. I'm a natural female tenor with a secondary alto range. I sing in my college's chamber choir and have done two stints in two different church choirs.

"Stairway" isn't 80's rock...it's 60's rock. But I, too, find myself singing Billy Joel...not just in the shower but EVERYWHERE! I can't get his songs out of my head.

I not only sing in the shower, but I play air guitar!! I'm sure if I saw it on video I'd probably wet myself. I'm a terrible singer, and I'm sure my family and friends would all agree. I sound good in my head, but when I listen to myself on tape I could vomit.

I will sing loudly in the car on my way to or from work, and I will sing in the car if my son is in with me.
His words on the subject -
"You a terrible singer, mum"!!!!

It's a wee bit hypocritical of my tone-deaf son who insists on singing Hank Williams songs and sounding like a wounded cat being strangled!

You know you're a mum when you enjoy the dreadful sound of your child singing!

My mum must have been pretty tolerant then.
As children my sisters and I would sing loudly along to whatever music was playing in the car, usually the "horrible modern stuff" my mum hated.
On Australian Idol apparently they have a competition where people can enter their mums to sing against other mums.
I would enter mine...but I couldn't bear the shame.

I can honestly say I've never sang in the shower. I tend to sing in the car when I'm alone.
I sang along to an mp3 once at home and my other half heard me and started raving about how good I sounded. Oh please... I'm ok but not that good! Now he tries to badger me to sing and gets upset when I won't.

I sing all the time...when someone is talking and says something that is in a song I start singing the song...I'm ALWAYS singing. It's probably really annoying.

I used to sing in the shower when I was single and no one could hear me. I sound just awful and I know it. A speech therapist once told me that I wasn't tone deaf; I could hit the correct note, it just took hitting several other notes to get there. So now I only sing in the car when I'm alone.

Better that than my sister, she hits a note (the wrong one) then takes a 5 mile journey around all of the notes on the piano before she hits the right one. Where do I sign her up for yodelling...

That's not really nice, wisconsin. I can say that my husband doesn't sing in the shower either. Or anywhere else for that matter, not even in church. We've been married for almost eight years and I've never heard him sing. Somebody must have told him that he sounds awful because no amount of coaxing will get him to sing, not even for my birthday!
