How about we start this thread off with a sundog I caught on camera last winter? The photo was actually taken in mid-afternoon but it has an eerie look to it from shooting directly into the sun and because of the peculiar cloud cover we were getting from the chemtrailing being done that day (which is why I was out taking photos of the sky in the first place).

I took this picture earlier this year when I was in North Carolina. I had never seen a rainbow like that one and I took a bunch of pictures of it.

No, yours is amazing--that's the best rainbow I've seen in years! I have a photo of a small double rainbow I hope to post in the photo-a-day thread soon, but it's nowhere near as nice as this one. Great shot!

Good subject, this is the stunningly beautiful ceiling of the 15th century St. Edmunds church in Southwold, which we visited last week. The ceiling was restored years ago following partial collapse, and also damage from musket fire by Roundhead Puritans during the English Civil War in 1644. The angels in particular were considered idolatrous.

Well I had trouble with this one, but I found this shot I took on our trip to Australia. It's the flag pole atop the Australian Parliament Building.

I was out one Sunday after work looking for something (didn't find it, however) and saw a beautiful sunset.

I took this picture at Sesriem Canyon in Sousisvlei in Namibia. Once there was water running through it but now it only has a very small pool in one area. I was so amazed at how deep it was I stood at the bottom and took this picture of the clouds overhead not knowing it would end up here.

This is a beautiful sky we saw approaching the Caribbean island of Dominica.

Last July, we were in Cape Canaveral, Florida to watch the shuttle Discovery launch. This is the trail it left behind.

I knew I shouldn't have deleted all those photos I took of rainbows last week!

This is a shot of the King Jarrah tree at Bridgetown, Western Australia, which I took last month when we had a weekend away. It is about 500 years old, 45 metres (about 148 feet) high and 2.6 metres (about 8.5 feet) in diameter. I took this shot lying down on the ground and looking straight up.

Jarrah trees are only found in the south western corner of Western Australia and are prized for their hard, rich red timber.

Getting a new roof up above my house! LOL Just in time for any of this year's potential hurricanes to rip it off.

These are the Galahs that nest in the tree at the back gate every year - it shouldn't be long until they annoy the heck out of us by feeding the young at sunrise every monring. The Galah on the lower right is sitting at the entrance to the nest.

I took a lot of photos this week, of clouds, trees and so on, but wasn't thrilled by any of them. The rainbow photos I took last year were nothing special. Then, when I was sorting some really old pictures, I found this one, taken the very first time I travelled from England to the continent by ferry. 'Tis a lifeboat perched above the deck upon which I was standing.

Good shot, Kapuskasing! I'm originally from PA, but Knoebels is one of the parks I don't think I ever made it to. Heard lots about it, though, as my husband has been there many times.

I've been browsing through old photos, seeing as I havn't downloaded this past weeks lot from my phone yet, and I found this beautiful skyscape. It was taken somewhere in NSW. I can't remember where exactly though.
