How about we start this thread off with a sundog I caught on camera last winter? The photo was actually taken in mid-afternoon but it has an eerie look to it from shooting directly into the sun and because of the peculiar cloud cover we were getting from the chemtrailing being done that day (which is why I was out taking photos of the sky in the first place). Larger ViewMy humble offering certainly doesn't compare to some of these, but it's the first one I ever saw so I was kind of excited about it.

No, yours is amazing--that's the best rainbow I've seen in years! I have a photo of a small double rainbow I hope to post in the photo-a-day thread soon, but it's nowhere near as nice as this one. Great shot!

I knew I shouldn't have deleted all those photos I took of rainbows last week! This is a shot of the King Jarrah tree at Bridgetown, Western Australia, which I took last month when we had a weekend away. It is about 500 years old, 45 metres (about 148 feet) high and 2.6 metres (about 8.5 feet) in diameter. I took this shot lying down on the ground and looking straight up. Jarrah trees are only found in the south western corner of Western Australia and are prized for their hard, rich red timber.
