Have been waiting to use this pic taken on our Namibia trip in May. Same place Kingsly Holgate had his picture taken when he followed the line of Capricorn around the world.

Drove through this village today in Aberdeenshire.

From a recent trip through a well-known village in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, just down the road from Paradise and (I'm not kidding) Bareville:

"Welcome to the Embera Indian village of Tusipono"

This is a sign I found during a trip to Taronga Park Zoo while on holiday in Sydney. It seems to be suggesting that women are some kind of animal to be displayed at the zoo!

This is the sign you come to going to Jackson Hole. The Elevation we were at is at the bottom, 8431 Feet. The ride down the pass was very interesting.

This is the sign at the top of Spruce Knob, West Virginia's highest point.

There is a chronic shortage of water in Western Australia due to the climate, limited water supply and ever-growing population.

When I was growing up, the population was predominantly British and every one had English-style gardens, with lawns. Now we are being encouraged to move away from this traditional style and establish gardens using native Australian plants or other plants with low water requirements.

We are only allowed to water our gardens two days per week between certain hours - which two days depends on your address. Our days to water are Sunday and Thursday.

This roadside sign belongs to a local plant nursery (the Zanthorrhea nursery) which specialises in native plants.

This is a picture of the Mint Bar, Main Street, Sheridan, WY. Sheridan is where I was born, and Main Street is a beautiful mixture of old and new without the typical Old West Kitsch you see in a lot of places. The Mint Bar was established in 1907 and has done business in the same location, under the same name, for 100 years. It was featured in a Kenny Rogers movie in the mid 80's.

This is a billboard we saw in Barbados this spring, right before some games in the Cricket World Cup were held there. If you can't read the red letters, it says - "Use a condom every time." Definitely a sign of the times!

My sign is at the end of the dirt road before you hit the bitumen. When trucks travel on the dirt a lot of it gets caught up in the dual wheels and creates a mini dust storm when they drive through the town. They don't have to do anything special - when they stop the dust settles on the road and doesn't get dragged through the town.
