Hey guys! My name is Ally and I'm 17 years old. I'm on this HUGE reading kick, and I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions. My favorite books are A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Angela's Ashes. I like the styles of those, and I was wondering, do you guys know of any similar to them?

Oh, and I also love reading the 'classics'. I loved To Kill a Mockingbird and Rebecca. Emma I thought was so so. I read Animal Farm and I really liked that one too, although not among my favorites. I *hated* Huck Finn with a passion, lol.

Anyways, let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

Wow Ally, that's some pretty heavy reading!

Welcome to the Book Corner

I can't think of any particular books that fit your tastes right now, but I do have a suggestion. Talk to your librarian, there's a book they should have in the referemce section called What Should I Read Next, or something close to that. Your librarian should know it.

It lists titles; gives a brief description of it, and suggests other books that might interest you if you liked this one. I use it all the time and find it very accurate

How about the sequel to Angela's Ashes, 'Tis? I haven't read it but I hear it's good.

Those are two of my favorite books. I like the way they go into so much detail with everyday life.

I highly reccommend that you read Looking For Alibrandi. I am only 15, but I know a really good book when I read one. It had romance, drama, funny bits, the lot. I loved it, it was 200% good!!!!

Geek, that's exactly what I liked about those two. The way they described everyday life in such great detail.

Angelus, I will definitely look for that book. Thank you for the suggestion!

And I did check out Tis, the sequel to Angela's Ashes. I'll let you guys know how it is!

I'm also reading the first Harry Potter book. Trying to see what all the fuss is about. Actually, it's pretty good. You guys should check it out!
