I've been at a meeting in London today, not far from the Australian High Commission in The Strand.
Thought it might be of interest to those of you from 'down under' to see the stately entrance to your building!

Today I made soft pretzels and a loaf of French bread, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to show off my new pail of Vegemite that I was so excited to find! I can hardly resist a piece of fresh, homemade bread still warm from the oven spread with Vegemite--see, I even had to take a bite before I took the picture. Yum, yum!

Hope you’ve had a great birthday, lady1.

Au_Naturel, I loved the shots of Seneca Rocks.

This is another of my cat mugs.

Another local view, just next to the station, an Asian food shop.

I decided to join the local 'alternative' film club this season, and today saw a pleasant little Irish movie called "Once". No sex, no violence, some very pleasant music and engaging actors. The Empire Theatre is an old movie theatre downtown, done up to its former glory, and a joy to watch a movie in. It also presents live entertainment, as you can see from the photo.

Thank you for the wishes Ren and TabbyTom.
This is an Arum lilly I received from my niece. Thought it was such a wonderful colour I had to share it with you all.

Hong Kong has hundreds of government housing estates, many with lovely parks attached. Here is one in one of the newest estates, Tin Shui Wai.

The childrens' area has a super maze
There are also scented gardens for the blind and lots of shady trees as you see.

Here is another shot of the Panama Canal. This is one of the lock gates. As you can see, once they are closed people can walk across them to get to the other side of the canal.

Wow, Ren, that's a splendid amenity for as housing estate! Somehow I can't see a British council providing anything like that.

TW, Brighton pier looks to be in much better shape than the one here at Hastings.

A long time ago, I think I posted a picture of the New Gate at Winchelsea, now spanning a by-road nearly a mile from the village. This is another isolated bit of the old town - the gable of St John's Hospital, one of four hospitals in the town in the late Middle Ages.

I was 'baby sitting' this evening for two of my grand-children while their parents and elder (10 year old) sister were at an open evening of the school. This is the fruit salad which my grand-daughter prepared for our evening meal!

Picqero, what a lovely plate of food, yum!

This is Clyde. He is a Highland Cattle steer who lives in California. His companion, whose nether regions you can see on the left of the photo, is Bonnie.

Spotted this one downtown yesterday. Either the signwriter is orthographically challenged, or parking is restricted to members of only three families in town (according to the phone book). Perhaps drinkers of a certain British lager would also be permitted.

Wow I have never seen ginger growing before. I wonder if they are two different types as they look nothing alike.

Spring has sprung and the flowers are all beginning to grow in the garden - at last. Thought I would share my Wysteria with all the Desperate Housewives out there.

Wow, that Wisteria is gorgeous. That is the ginger flower that is grown here from the root we use in cooking. It smells lovely. The leaves are very similar to those in bhs's picture.

This'll be my last posting for about a week as I'm off on a sailing trip tomorrow.
This is a Victorian post, or pillar box. There can't be too many of these hexagonal boxes still in existence! It's just down the road from us, and has been receiving letters for well over a hundred years.
I've thought about photographing it for some time, but it getting a new coat of paint last week finally inspired me.

On our trip to Aruba while I went snorkelling, Mrs. Argus took a tour of the island. This is her photo of the natural bridge. It's one of the natural wonders of the island.

21 Cranbourn Street, off Charing Cross Road in London, is now just a nondescript fish and chip kiosk. But cricket freaks will note the evidence at first-floor level that it was once occupied by John Wisden & Co. This is where the exploits of W. G. Grace and his contemporaries were chronicled in nineteenth-century editions of Wisden's Almanac.
