I am sulking. You will have noticed, perhaps, my lack of photos this week. I am reluctant to put them on this computer whilst my real computer is being mended. Hopefully I will get it back soon so that I can really get busy when I get my nice new camera.

This is the Royal Hospital, Chelsea, as seen from the Embankment.

I took quite a few photos of my mother's collection of cuddly toys when I visited her this afternoon. As I have already posted one in the toys theme thread, some of the rest will end up here.



The big fellow holding the reindeer is Noel, and the three little chaps all have names, but I can't recall them just now.

Although where I live is considered to be flat prairie, we do have some nice valleys. This is a photo of the Pembina Valley. Created when the last ice age retreated.




That little white line off in the distance is the road we drove down to get to this spot. Oh and this photo was taken last fall, so our trees don't look like that yet, but it won't be long.

We hada BBQ today and the weather was perfect. I am just posting a picture of the preparations for banana spring rolls. Just roll up a slice of banana with some brown sugar and deep fry. Yum!

Yum Ren, they sound delicious. Deep frying makes anything taste better. Here is a photo from our trip to Australia last year. We stopped in Tahiti on the way and it was Chinese New Year. A local store had a group doing a lion dance to attract customers.

I gave up reading British newspapers in disgust more than thirty years ago, but I still rather like some of their old office buildings. This is the old Daily Telegraph building in Fleet Street, London (now the London HQ of Goldman Sachs). To the left is the King & Keys pub, where Telegraph journalists and printshop workers would drink in the days before the industry decamped to the redeveloped dock areas of the East End.

This is what I saw when I opened my blinds this morning. Not too unusual, until you know how cold it has been here the last few days, and how little I have done to encourage a second blooming of my roses!

The sort of day I have had, I need to get back to the peace and quiet of the Nunnery I visited in the summer....

On our trip to Australia we were the typical tourists. So here is a typical tourist photo. I think most people will recognize the location.

I thought this plant had an interesting leaf pattern...



...one that leant itself to a few funny photo effects. Here is one.

This is the greatest thread. I love seeing all the photos from around the world, as I'm not much of a world traveler. Can I join the thread? Are there rules to follow?

Excellent, thanks so much, Jar! SO..here's my first photo post..I took this picture of a bamboo stand in Hawaii this past July. Because we currently live in the brown, brown desert, I can't get enough GREEN -- it's like a breath of fresh air for my eyes.

This rather striking sculpture of a boy and dolphin stands on the Chelsea Embankment in London.

Nice start djsgal, the sort of thing I've only seen in the botanical gardens at Kew!

Another photo for Satguru from our recent road trip. Maynooth and I spent a weekend down south. The railway line runs parallel to the main highway but you usually can't see the trains because of the bush. Not long ago, the government installed these signs all along the highway to warn motorists that when you turn off the main road, you need to be aware of the presence of the railway tracks and trains.

What a cute choo-choo picture MG -- we have a real one just like it that runs for tourists! (it's 100 years old so Puffy doesn't go too far.)

I went for lunch today to the rather exclusive Football Club. Here is one of the stained glass windows in the Gentlemens' Lounge(well ladies use it now)

My local golf club still has a men only bar, and it is men only.

Today my new camera arrived and the first two hours were so long as I waited for the battery to charge. I then went slightly crazy and took 105 photos. It has been hard to decide which to use as they are pretty diverse but in the end I decided on one of the Icho Tower shots.
