My favorite show of all time is Law and Order SVU. I started watching the original and stumbled on SVU and I LOVE it. Elliot and Olivia are a great combo.

I never watched the original and for years didn't realize that there was more than one show. I just thought Law and Order was on an awful lot. I didn't know there was a SVU or CI. I finally watched an episode and now I'm hooked on both SVU and CI. I like Elliot and Olivia, too, but my husband likes Gorem and Eames.

I never was able to get into CI but I'm addicted to SVU. I found SVU because I thought what I was watching was the original. The cast of SVU just clicks together so well and deals with the criminals and cases very well too.

It's always on tv because of how good it is and the fact that there are three popular different branches. It is different from other shows because it doesn't do the same worn out plots and try and appeal to everyone but manges to appeal to quite a few people who enjoy good drama with out cheesey storys.

I used to be a big fan of the show, but my favorite episodes included Lennie Briscoe,(Jerry Orbach)and when he died, I just couldn't watch anymore.

I agree. Lennie Briscoe was an amazing detective and Jerry Orbach was a super actor who brought a lot to the show. The only homicides I watch are the ones with him and Jesse L. Martin and where two of the series cross over.

What did you guys think of the new episodes of SVU? I like them but they are coming close to being way too much. The viewers are getting lost in the Law and Order maze.

Believe it or not, I can't handle Stabler and Benson! He is just creepy!
My favorites are the CI team: Goren and Eames. I figure, when everything else is in reruns, I'll watch! But as I said, without Lennie, it's just not the same...

I'll agree about L&O not being the same without Briscoe. He brought a lot to the show and they are going through too many different people. It's funny that you dislike Stabler because you think he is creepy because out of everyone, Goren freaks me out. I don't know why but something about his behavior just doesn't feel right to me.

Goren is admittedly obsessive compulsive, and more than a little odd. I think I like him because we have a bit in common! Stabler is off, somehow. His kids don't even like him! Did I hear that the family is getting back together? If so, it's probably because his image suffered greatly...

I thought Goren was OCD but I didn't know for sure. And yes, Stabler and his wife were working it out and she is now pregnant. I think the writers over did the teen moodness thing.

Yeah, they probably did 'overdo' it a bit. His wife wasn't very understanding, either, if I remember correctly...Anyhow, we'll see if they make it over the bad road!
I DO like Goren, but I'm not sure I could work with him!

Goren seems like a good detective but a hard to deal with. Eames looks like a good detective too and she seems more easy to talk to than Goren so would make a better partner. Out of all the detectives I would partner with, I would pick either Benson or maybe Munch. Stabler is a little to in need of anger mangement.

Does anybody who watches Law & Order CI know what movie detective Eames played in as a young kid? I'll be back to check in a little bit. I thought she was a much better actress as a kid than she is now. Unless its just the character she plays has to act like a puppet in CI.

The earliest thing I can find is Chicken Soup, a sitcom 1989-90. She played Lynn Redgrave's daughter. I don't think I ever saw it, but she was born in 1966, so she wasn't really a 'kid'.

Detective Eames played the daughter of Richard Dreyfus in the film "What About Bob". It's worth watching for a couple of laughs if you like Bill Murray.

Yes, it's What About Bob. She is quite cute in that film and her scenes with Bill Murray are funny. I am amazed how all these kids in movies grow up and yet I never seem to age ;D

Does anyone know the names of any of the L&O movies. There was one on TNT and I was wondering if there are any others.

Yea, I saw one about Chris Noth's character after he was done on the series, way before he came back on CI. It was just a made for TV movie. Ice-T was a bad guy and a victim. I just wanted to know if that was it or if any one had seen others.

I don't understand why they added Chris Noth's character to CI. I like it fine with Goren and Eames. Goren is my favorite character but I like the original and SVU also.

I believe it was done in order to give Vincent D'Onofrio a break from filming, though I'd have to do some research to confirm this.

I don't know either, but I only set my DVR to record it every other week! I love Goren!
