England play France next week in a semi to see who gets in teh final

Tonight South Africa play Fiji and Scotland play Argentina and the winners of that will play each other next week for the final.

Now I guess I'll go for a South Africa / England final.

But the England France game could go either way .. both teams could have already played their final if that makes sense or it could be a ripper.

Well, this quarter-final round is certainly providing some exciting rugby. Twenty minutes into the second half in Marseille, I thought we might be heading for the biggest upset of all when Fiji got those two tries in a couple of minutes and drew level with the Springboks.

With five minutes to go till kick-off in Paris, I'm now going to echo Quiz Beagle's "Good luck to the Pumas," and settle down with my bottle of Argentine wine to see if the last game in the round can match the first three for entertainment value.

Dear Quiz Beagle´
As I told you yesyerday one would celebrate but the other should not mourn. Scotland played as if we had fifteen Wallace and Robert the Bruce in
front of our Pumas but it was our time to win.
Long live a free Scotland !

Dear Quiz Beagle,
Yesterday I told you that only one of us would celebrate but the should not mourn because the Pumas had to face a brave and gallant opponent. We had fifteen Wallace and Robert the Bruce to beat.
Long live a free Scotland !

It's right up for grabs now, isn't it?

I reckon the teams playing last night would have put that little bit more into it and backed themselves that lilttle bit more once they heard that NZ and Aust. were out of the equation.

had to laugh on our news here - the first story was about Australia being kicked out but it focussed more on Greegan and Larkham playing their last games and then the story went on to "the biggest shock in Rugby Union" and the kiwis getting done as well.

There was one shot of Greegan after the game and another Aust. player whose name i can't think of had his arm around him, looked at him then Greegan put his head on the other players shoulder. Honestly it could have been out of a romance movie and you have expected them to pash/snog/kiss in there somewhere

Sorry about this Copago, but I had to bring this over from the CB's.

England meet France at the Stade de France on Saturday, South Africa meet Argentina at the Stade de France on Sunday and on Thursday Australia met New Zealand at the airport.

You keep dreaming, papo! I don't think that match will be one for the faint-hearted viewer! And which England and which France will turn up? Interestingly, France only gave away two (2!) penalties during the All Blacks match. If they show that much discipline again, will England be able to break the game line and score tries? What will the mad monk (AKA Chabal) do? Can hardly wait! Enjoy the matches, all.

BTW, another joke doing the rounds. Doug Howlett's been cleared of jumping up and down on a BMW at Heathrow - he told the judge it was only because he couldn't find a Renault or Citroen...

Vamos Pumas, carajo or rather Arriba los Pumas which seems to be more polite.
The first is a bit coarse.

There´s a good ad on TV with a song:
Yo te daré, te daré niña hermosa,
te daré una cosa, una cosa que empieza con P Pumas !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The translation is as follows:
I will give you, I will give pretty lass, I will give something beginning by P
Pumas!!!!!!!

Not the best game so fat, but a great result for England.

Shame the Pumas made so many mistakes as they gifted South Africa most of their points in today's semi-final. They did not deserve to go out of the competition like that on their previous performances

You are quite right SOTHC. We made a lot of mistakes and reality made us wake up from a beautiful dream. It´s all over now and we do wish you Britons
to beat the Springboks, something we didnt know how to do.
The very best luck for England in the final game and my heart felt gratitude
to all thos good friends like Quiz Beagle who supported the Pumas.
Until next Championship!!!!!!

I'm so sorry to see you go out, papo - and if there is any justice in the world, you will be invited to join the Six Nations or the Tri Nations - it cam only be good for Rugby!
