I have a correction outstanding on one of my quizzes. Please can somebody let me know if 'Cotton Eye Joe' by the Rednex is the same 'Cotton Eye Joe' as sung by Tom Paxton (and many others, but it's the Tom Paxton I'm interested in). I'm certain in my mind, but that's hardly definitive! Unfortunately my cassette (Yes, I'm that old! ) has long since disintegrated and as I'm on my laptop I don't have i-Tunes to check. Very grateful if someone could help. MTIA

The Rednex version is a "dance" remix of the old American Folk song...I'm not sure if Tom Paxton ever did a version of it but I do know that Bob Wills did a version of it.
