Food!

Is it worth the waiting for,
If we live till eighty-four,
All we ever get is,
GRUEL,
Everyday we say a prayer,
Will they change the bill of fare,
still we get the same old
GRUEL
"Food,Glorious Food" from Oliver.

I enjoyed that movie...Well I don't usually take photos of food, but when you're on a cruise and they have great displays of them, how can you not!

These young chefs proudly display their wares. Delicious desserts. Yum!

We went to a dinner/show at a posh restaurant earlier this year. The desserts were fabulous. The gold dragon on top of the dessert is an edible wafer. Unfortunately, the quality of the photo doesn't really do it justice.

Food! Glorious Food! So now I've had that song running around in my head all day.

Here is Proscuitto on Black Grouper, the entreť.

Bigger Grouper

And here is dessert, Apple and Pear Tart with ice cream, obviously. Note the cork at the top of the plate -- the wine was delish! However, the large picture of the grouper had two corks
Your dessert looks good, too MG. *licking my chops*

Oh, all this food is making me hungry!

Here are some Christmas cookies I made last year. They're making me hungry too!

Had mango pudding from the buffet at the Football Club yesterday. Oh Yum.

Then choc sauce all over it, whipped cream on top , double yum.

djsgal, those Christmas cookies look so good and so pretty I bet they were delicious. I love making cookies. It's so much fun.

Here are some jingle jumbles and some lemony butter cookies.

Two years ago we were on the road at Thanksgiving, so I made this meal in our truck/RV while we were away from home.

This was one of the desserts consumed during our FT get-together in Toronto last May. It's fried bananas and green tea ice cream.

The ice cream looked better than it tasted!

When we do our re-enactments of the English Civil War, we eat authentic period foods. Here's a whole hogroast, ready for carving by our expert 'chef'! It takes about 12 hours - and considerable skill, to gently roast. Only the skin gets burnt, the meat being cooked perfectly.
I hope the sight of a whole pig being prepared doesn't offend too many. There's really no difference between this and a 'barbie' with pork chops, sausages or burgers

A cheese pasty not made today; it is making me hungry and tempted to go and make another.

I thought this week's theme was 'food', not car maintenance.

Does this help combat Copago's photo?
