Everybody's got one. That movie that you're embarrassed to say that you watch and enjoy that most of the rest of the planet look down their noses at.
Care to confess? I'll start:

I love 'Dumb and Dumber'. I can't help it, there's just so much goofy stuff there.
"Wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?" Lol, my daughter makes that same sound.

So, anybody else want to 'fess up?

All right. Looks like I'm cornered, and must own up to one (there's actually many "stupid" movies I like very much, I have to admit...). One of my all-time favorites, though, is the first "Porky's". Good Lord, it's just dreadful cinema and serves no purpose on this planet whatsoever. But I enjoy it every time I watch the crazy thing...

Crybaby. I love that stupid, stupid movie.

Top Gun. Every time I watch it I think how pointless the dialog is, how conniving and flat the emotional manipulation. Even the soundtrack is totally cheesetastic. But if it's on, I watch it.

How High with Method Man and Redman

The most lowbrow movie of all time but it has some lines and moments in it that are downright hilarious:

Between Baby Powder, How Redman can fail Women's Studies, Fred Willard, Spalding Gray, Jeffrey Jones (aka Ed Rooney), the Prison Barber Certificate and Weave Master Degree that Redman has to live up to, exploding pigeons...

It starts out lowbrow and only sinks lower. But in a good way.

My favorite KIND of movie is a stupid one...Some of my favorites:

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Airplane!
Kung Pow
Shaun of the Dead
Space Balls
Blazing Saddles
Monty Python's the Meaning of Life
Robin Hood: Men in Tights
Dumb and Dumber (the BEST dialogue is in that movie: "Those your skis?" "yep" "...Both of them?" ..."Big gulp, huh? Welp, see ya later!")
Bio-Dome
Son in Law
Encino Man
Anchor Man
40 Year Old Virgin
Ace Ventura
Billy Madison
...The list could literally go on forever...stupid movies are the BEST kind of movies!

Edited to say that I would NEVER be embarassed to say that I love these movies, they're hilarious!

"The Gods Must Be Crazy" is one of the silliest movies ever made, but I love it!

Also, the 'spaghetti Westerns' by Terrence Hill and Bud Spencer are so bad that they are hilarious. "Trinity", "I'm for the Hippopotamus", "Watch Out, We're Mad", etc...

I love King01s list- most of them are classic! Special mention of 'Shaun of the Dead'- which I only watched because I've been a Simon Pegg fan since 'Spaced' and he's brilliant. Then I watched it again. And again. Try 'Hot Fuzz' too.
'Galaxy Quest' is also a blast, I could, and have re-watched that one quite a few times.

Oh, now, we have to be careful here. lol Monty Python and the Holy Grail is NOT a stupid movie. It is comic genius.

OK, really, I was trying to think of genuinely bad movies that I love to watch anyway. Monty Python could not possibly make it onto that list. Nor could Spaceballs, Robin Hood: MIT, or Airplane! Spoofs are above reproach, of course. They're intentionally bad, you see. I might agree with all the Pauly Shore movies, though. They're kinda terrible, but I ALWAYS watch them when they're on TV, and I always laugh. Always. It's a sad, sad thing.

Oh, well you see..when you said "really stupid" movies I just went with every movie with my sense of humor...except yes, Pauly Shore movies are pretty bad. But anyway I think they're "stupid humor" ...I don't know how to explain it, it's just everyone was mentioning movies like "Dumb and Dumber" and I think that's a brilliant movie so I just thought that it meant movies with "stupid humor", you see? I agree that all of the Monty Python catalogue is genius.

All the most genuinely stupid movies I've ever seen I've not had the patience to watch through and have promptly forgotten. They're really not even worth mentioning if I could even recall what they were- which I can't, but that could also be because I'm getting old;)

I agree with King, there are movies which are not exactly highbrow, to put it mildly, but are so hilarious and silly and have such catchy moments that they really stick in the mind. These become comic classics.
We haven't even mentioned Rocky Horror Picture Show yet!

Can't Stop The Music with The Village People. It's so corny and glitzy that it just mesmerizes me.

King, that is a GREAT list of movies right there!

Now, don't get me wrong, I enjoy movies of all types. Capote, after all, was a great movie.

But then sometimes I am in the mood to just laugh and laugh and laugh.

Friday is one. Chris Tucker and John Witherspoon made that movie. Not to mention Crackhead Ezal:

"God. Oh, I'm hurt. Oh, my neck, my back, my neck and my back. Oh, I want $150,000, but we can settle out of court right now for twenty bucks."

That scene just cracks me up.

Then there is the mighty Fletch. Possibly the greatest comedy of all time with some of the greatest lines.

"Utah's not exactly a cure for boredom."

Gail Stanwyck: She looks like a hooker. Look at her. Look at her! Could you love someone who looked like that?
Fletch: What are you talking about? Of course not! Five, ten minutes tops, maybe.

Great movie right there.

Zoolander, Old School, Talladega Nights, Dodgeball, Supertroopers. I think those are classic funnies that have not been mentioned. Anything with Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Will Ferrell.

Oooh, Galaxy Quest is one of my favorites.
Nigh Shift with Micheal Keaton and Henry Winkler tops the list also.

I loved Galaxy Quest, did not know it was a Really Stupid Movie, oh well. LOL

I made my sister and her husband watch "Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension" a long time ago, they never let me forget how much they hated it and how much I liked it.

I think I'd call Galaxy Quest maybe Clever Stupid. Or something like that.

Buckaroo Banzai is a classic. I haven't seen that in years. How can you hate that cast?! John Lithgow. Christopher Lloyd. Jeff Goldblum. Well, ok, I guess you have to enjoy "quirky".

That reminded me of another one I love--Mystery Men. I really really want a bowling ball with a head in it...

It took a looong time but Dumb & Dumber finally wore me down and made me laugh. I've totally given myself over to it.
