i just remembered some books I read quite some time ago that I thoroughly enjoyed...so I've just re-ordered them for a second pass.

They give a fascinating insight into the REAL First Families in the White House; they're written by former employees who worked in the White House.

Did you know that Mamie Eisenhower was hated by the White House staff? They referred to her as 'The Queen' and 'The Dowager Empress'? Richard Nixon was one of the most highly thought of by the staff? That's enough hints...the books are......

Parks, Lillian "My 30 Years Backsstairs at the White House"

Bagni, Lynn "Backstairs at the White House"

West, J.B. "Upstairs at the White House"

I ordered some excellent quality, cheap used editions from:

Or you could be really cheap and get them from the library!

Thanks Rich! This sounds like some interesting reading and I for one will persue it! I checked with my library and they're all available!
