Really, what is the world coming to? But couldn't help but giggle at this bit " who did not realise her bag had been stolen until some time later".

It doesn't mention if she noticed that her underpants had been taken did it?

I would think that would be pretty easy to notice.

Or maybe she did notice, and was too distraught to notice her bag was missing.

Gotta love Brisbane. People here have nothing better to do but steal handbags and Reg Grundies.

Seriously, if it happened to me I doubt I would ever notice that my bag was gone.

I think the shock of having my "drawers" removed from my bottom (trying to get this past filters) would distract me from realizing what might be missing on my "arm". I may have had too much coffee, but I laughed out loud and scared the dog when I read this! Sorry, I REALLY am taking this seriously (hanging head in shame). Especially the officer's remark about it "possibly being a trophy". Gotta go, I'm laughing too hard to see here. Sandy

I'm sorry to say, but I would really notice if my bag was missing rather than my underwear! My bag is my life line - who cares about knickers!

I want to know how he ripped her knickers off, does that mean they were destroyed. All I can say is that she obviously wasn't wearing M&S's sturdy bucket pants.

All right Sue, I'll be the one to ask. What are "M&S sturdy bucket pants"? I don't even want to venture a guess on that one, but is it something in your Marks and Spencer stores you have there? I remember seeing M&S somewhere in another post, I think.

Marks and Spencers' underwear is well known for its strength and substance and I think Sue meant thet if the lady had been wearing such typically British knickers she would not have had the problem.

I'd guess his object was NOT to take them but to just pull them down quickly in order to prevent her from chasing him (in which case M & S is NO advantage) and then grab for the bag. He'd count on her being so distraught she has forgotten her bag OR, if she is quicker and feistier she might try to hit him WITH the bag which also makes it accessible to him if he can grab it and pull hard before she lands a blow.
He'd get my fist before he'd get far, I'd really like him to try it.
