For all those with fond memories of Sustanined Silent Reading.

Yay! My American Lit. teacher has reinstituted SSR and every day or so he devotes an entire class period to it. This is great relife for me and a welcome change for everyone in class to be allowed to just read for an hour without having to fill out worksheets or anylize the characters.
We don't even have to read our lit books, we can read whatever we want as long as we are reading.

That sounds like a major forward step Geek!!Here in our primary schools we continue to have USSR , or ERIC or whatever it is called now. The children love it and so do I!!!. Here,too, there is no obligation to list what you read and they can read comics or catalogues or anything. This has been one of the Educational Theories that works , I think.
