Project for this evening: Paint coffee cans ready to be decorated and become treat dispensers for Hallowe'en.

That's just the first coat. I'm hoping two will do it!

Good luck with your painting, spanishliz. I'm sure it'll be a hit with the youngsters.

Ren, it's not just the 'look' that's cheeky . As I am sure Copago can verify, kids of that age are full of mischief (but ever so loveable)!

We went on our annual trip to the mountains yesterday to buy apples and pumpkins. Here's my grandson trying to pick the perfect jack-o-lantern pumpkin!

This is my antique phone that we've had in my family forever. My dad gave it to me several years ago.

Dad made the inside a spice cabinet. I don't store spices there, just these old canisters for fun.

This is one of several banners and tapestries recently made by local schoolchildren in honour of king Harold, who perished at the Battle of Hastings in 1066 at the start of the Norman invasion.
It now hangs in nearby Waltham Abbey where Harold is buried.

Here's a photo of two cruise ships docked at St. Maarten in the Caribbean. The one on the right was our home for 10 days.

Another photo of the vixen that has become a regular visitor. It spent ages sleeping in the Sun in our garden today. I can get quite close to it now. I say it's a vixen because we sometimes get this fox and another one come into the garden. The other one is bigger. Maybe that's a wrong assumption.

How lovely Martin. I saw some programme on BBC2 the other day and it was Alan Titmarsh talking about foxes and badgers in town and showing them on film. The foxes were trotting down the road with people about.

I saw the programme too. He said that our gardens are somewhat like a patchwork of countryside to wildlife.

I phoned a helpline about this fox. It's got an injured front leg and its paw is swollen. They are going to send some ant-inflammatory drops that can be added to food. I haven't been feeding it up to now. I'm not sure I want to become that much of a friend. Maybe it's only putting on a limp so I'll sympathize and start feeding it. Sly thing!

Great photo TW; wish I could get that close to a fox! I saw a beauty last week while out cycling, and it didn't notice me until I unzipped the velcro fastener of my camera - another opportunity lost
We get foxes visiting the garden at night, and used to put food scraps out for them, but with the very noticable increase in the rat population we no longer do this.
Here's my image of the day, a still life of one of our fruit baskets.

Wembley Stadium from Gladstone Park, Cricklewood. I can never accept this as the replacement building but I can do what I can to make it look good.

I love the fox - what a beautiful animal!

A school project for my daughter was to paint a pumpkin like a character in a book - she just read a story about a little white dog, so there you go.

Great photos everyone. I just can't tell everyone enough how much I enjoy looking at their pictures.

A nice foggy morning in Indiana. This fellow belongs to an Amish family.

Nice shot of the fox TW.
Is that a holder for the bananas that makes them stand up like that picqero? Nice shot!
What a wonderful photo of the horse ClaraSue.

Well I haven't found a lot to take photos of around our neighbourhood. I keep forgetting my camera . All the colorful leaves are gone so it looks kind of bleak outside. I'm looking forward to a holiday in Hawaii in January so here is a photo of one of our more popular beaches, Grand Beach.

This was taken early in the day so it's not crowded but on a hot summer's day you wouldn't be able to find a spot.

Larger shot

Love your fox TW!

This cheeky little kookaburra interrupted our croquet game on Sunday.

The fox is awesome!

Here's another picture from Sunday - this time he has "that look" on his face!

I'd love to know what he did next, cinnam0n. He looks like he's got something in mind!

Love the fox picture, and also the horse in the fog. Beautiful!

One of the spots my sister and I went shopping today is located in this old cobblestone farmhouse. It has lots of country-style crafty things, as well as a large food area in a sort of side addition to the building. All very rustic, and rather fun.

This photo shows the sign that dates the building to around 1830.

Lovely horse photo, ClaraSue. Didn't you post a photo from Shipshewana last month? Big Amish country, which made me wonder if this photo is from the same area? (I grew up in Indiana, which is why I'm interested. )

Here are our jack o' lanterns for tonight! Happy Halloween!
