I'm prompted to ask if anyone has recently done anything particularly silly? I only ask this as I don't want to feel it's an age thing, or I'm losing my marbles - or both! Someone tell me I'm not alone - please! I've just done a load of washing - well, I thought I had. When I opened the machine, it was empty. I had used more soap powder than usual and set it on the hottest for a white wash. The washing is still in the laundry basket.....

That is mild, Liliali, don't worry. Let me think. I have dozens that are much worse than that. Honestly. Oh yes, how about this. I rang the Amex company to activate my new card. I carefully typed in my number, which they verified. I was then reminded to destroy the old card by cutting it in half. Yes , I did that. Then I discovered I had carefully cut the new card in half. There are many many more I assure you.

I can't count the number of times I have walked down the passage to fetch something only I can't remember what I went for when I get there. I end up walking all the way back and suddenly remember, turn around and go all the way back again. I certainly hope my actions are also because I am distracted and not because I am getting old...

Another 'dippy' thing I recently did was to lock my house and car keys in the car boot. Unfortunately my somewhat incontinent elderly neighbour was inside the car. In my haste and panic to find the keys, I accidently slammed the passenger door shut, hitting her 'bad' knee causing her to scream out, thus ensuring that her 'incontinent problem' surfaced full pelt! Wondering what to do and unable to call out the breakdown insurance firm, mobile out of credit and out in the sticks, I had to walk home (2 miles) and just hope my other neighbour who had the spare house key was in. Luckily she was and thankfully I had a spare car key indoors, but had to walk back and by this time my dear neighbour had fallen fast asleep. Needless to say, there was a fair bit of cleaning up to be done, but she seemed oblivious.

Well I unwrapped a sweet, put the sweet in the bin and the wrapper in my mouth! I've also phoned an appointment for the opticians and then gone to another opticians to keep the appointment.Did I feel a fool when I realised what I had done. Hows that for dippy-ness?

I frequently find myself putting the milk carton into the cupboard instead of back into the refrigerator. Fortunately, I usually catch the mistake before the milk goes bad...

I'm not old... but I have done some pretty crazy things, including putting the milk in the cupboard, and boiling popcorn on the stove.

Thought of another one after reading more of these - we ARE a silly bunch! Have you ever put the remote for the TV in the refrigerator after getting a snack out to eat while watching? Not saying I have or anything, just wondered. Well, yes, I have...

Where are my glasses? Right on top of my head! Duh! Good to hear I'm not the only ditz in this bunch - Bless us all for doing dippy things ; I'm just glad we can all take time to laugh at ourselves once in awhile! I'm also guilty of making cups of tea and forgetting to drink them and misplacing my can of Dr. Pepper quite frequently. And I can NEVER find my pen when I need to write something down quickly.

Or called 19 (to get an outside line, which I have to do at work) - at home! Bonus points if you've done it on your mobile...

I think I've done most of these.
I put the loo rolls in the fridge once, prompting someone to ask if we were having curry!
I once put a trolley load of shopping through at Tesco, then realised I only had my expired card to pay with.
I work in a credit card centre and Ren, you are definitely not alone. It happens all the time. I've a soft spot for two customers in particular - one managed to microwave her card and the other one managed to toast hers! Anyone who can manage that is OK by me.
