Ever left your new-born baby in the pram outside the butcher's and reached home before you realised?I met a quite worried butcher on the way pushing the pram "Did you forget something, luv?"

I've a soft spot for two customers in particular - one managed to microwave her card and the other one managed to toast hers! Anyone who can manage that is OK by me.
How did they manage the microwave??? I can understand the toaster because they might have dropped it, but it's pretty hard to drop something in a microwave.

Credit cards will also melt in 100+ heat when left in the console of the car!

The lady in question had hidden her purse in the microwave. Her small son switched it on. With the toaster, she kept her cards in a cupboard over the toaster, and her card had dropped down without her realising.
Could happen to anyone really.

Not a good place to leave a purse, it could have dmaged the microwave - I used to keep a half cup of water in mine when not in use in case it was accidently switched on.

I made my kids some macaroni and cheese. I turned off the burner to let it cool some. Then I turned the kettle on high to make myself a cup of tea. I walked into the other room and after a minute or two, something really started to stink. I had turned on the wrong burner and turned their lunch into charcoal and cheese. Eck!

I rarely go to bed much before 2am, often it is later. Most mornings I am up and dressed before 9am but yesterday I overslept having had a couple really bad nights, one of which when I didn't sleep at all. I am hard of hearing these days and yesterday didn't hear the postman ringing the doorbell to deliver a 'sign for' package. Fine.
This morning it was 3am bedtime again and at 9.30am my telephone rang and it was a slightly dippy friend of mine saying "Are you ok? Guess where I am? I am outside." I immediately said that I would be straight down and put the phone down, grabbed my dressing gown and dashed down to let her in. There was no one there. Then the telephone rang again and she said "I am outside MY door, in my garden!". Duh.
I had assumed she was taking someone to the airport and decided to call in for a cup of tea before driving home.

That's pretty funny, Sue! I thought you were going to say, you put on your bathrobe, and went back to bed. I would have thought it was a prank...

I can't think of a silly thing at the moment, but my sisterwas in Wal-mart alone once, and almost ran into somone with her cart immediatly she said "Excuse us." Once I shook the Orang juice, while it was open. got in trouble, because of the mess but it was pretty funny. Another time I put my popcorn in the microwave, with the plastic wrap sttill on it.

So, kc61093, is it Alaska, or Arkansas? Check your user profile. It says Arkansas.

Forum profile says Alaska, main site profile says Arkansas - very confusing.

I came out of the grocery store yesterday, tried to unlock my door only to realize that it wasn't my car.

I do seem to have a problem with my keys. I have just managed to enter my flat after nipping out for a pint of milk to the local shop over 2 hours ago. My local is Marks & Spencer which is less than 5 mins walk away and it was 5.20 pm (they close at 5.30) so I rushed up there to get the milk and got distracted by their January Sales. In that 10 minutes I tried on and bought, a top, some jewellery, a hat and a bottle of wine (I digress, but this is what happens when you have M & S as your local). In all the rush, I thought I'd lost my keys or dropped them. I couldn't find them anywhere - searched bag, pockets etc so when I got home I had to use a neighbour's phone to call a locksmith. He was pretty quick in coming out and was trying all manner of ways to enter the flat without damaging the lock. My neighbour suddenly shouted up the stairs that I had left my coat behind. As she passed it to me, for some reason I shook it, and there was a rattling sound. Yes! My keys were in the pocket all the time. I was charged £30 call out, so my bargains at M & S were nothing of the sort - needless to say, the bottle of wine is now open...... Edited to add that since I posted this, I have spoken to my daughter who tells me she did exactly the same thing last year and found the keys in her pocket just as the locksmith arrived, but she was too embarrassed to own up and let him change the lock. It cost her over £100. I have no qualms in admitting I'm a bit scatty.

The supermarket was exceptionally busy, and I was most relieved to find a parking space - and very proud of myself when I managed to reverse into it without mishap, because it was a very tight space. So tight I couldn't open my door.

Now beat this. I thought I would weigh myself as I have been on a (not too violent) diet lately. I decided to weigh myself without clothes as it would be a boost if I was nice and light. So I stripped, stepped on the scales . Not much different. Maybe because I was holding all my clothes in my arms....

I went to the gym and proceeded to change from my work clothes to workout attire only to find that I put 2 different sneakers in to the bag. Not only were they different brands and didn't resemble each other but they were both left shoes. Please forward all my mail to the home.

My sister was wearing her contact lenses while we were out for a shopping spree after Christmas. We were at a local mall. She had a cup of Sprite, which she had finished and had taken the lid off because we're a family of ice eaters. Anyway, we were in the entryway and she stopped suddenly and said she'd lost her contact. So we are both looking all over the ground for her contact. A couple of people come through a door and see we're obviously looking for something and the quickly spoken phrase, "She's lost a contact" has them prowling the floor with us. More people enter, more people stop and start checking the floors at their feet, not daring to move too much lest they crush the lens. Jen pauses and tosses a few ice cubes into her mouth while the rest of us (and more entering all the time and joining the search) keep looking. At that moment there are probably a dozen people in the mall entryway, rooted to their spots and scanning the floor, when CRUNCH. Jen bites down on the ice and she's found her contact...
My husband and I were at Target for the first time since a recent remodel. They'd added some kind of anti-theft device at the doors, that stand about head-height. Now, these are double doors that open inward from the center, and at the other Target, the anti-theft devices are on either side of the wide opening. I was walking through the automatic door, turned to say something to my husband and turned back around to run full-on, head-first into an anti-theft device that stands right in the middle of the walkway. It seems that at THIS Target, instead of the devices flanking the doorWAY, they flank the actual doors, so that there are three such devices, one of which winds up situated so that it is perfectly hidden by the closed doors, which open so invitingly inward from the center... Knocked my glasses off my face, sent my husband into gales of laughter. I actually have to remind myself every time I visit that store NOT to walk through the center of the opening doors.

I'm going through a rather nasty divorce and had a long hearing at the courthouse yesterday afternoon. It had been warm here, but turned cold again, so I went out and started my car to warm it up. NOT looking forward to any of this, I haven't slept well in days, and am sick on top of it. I brushed my teeth and hair, got the dog back in the house, looked at the clock, and thought, "Oh NO, I'm going to be late on top of everything else! D*mn it anyway!" I grabbed my coat, gloves, and purse - NO car keys! Started frantically retracing my steps back through the kitchen, bathroom, and even went upstairs to my bedroom, where they never are, but worth looking, right? Just happened to see the "vapor" at the back of my car through the window.... I did NOT give a truthful reply to my attorney when asked as to why I was 15 minutes late and am trusting none of you will tell him either! Sandy
