I've been back tray-making again. I quite like this one, so I'm keeping it for myself this time:

Here's another angle.

Here's the use to which I put that previously posted tray:

The boxes contain sugared almonds (called dragées) and are offered to guests on any ceremonial occasion here in France (Weddings, baptisms, etc). These ones are to celebrate my daughter's Communion Solonelle, or renewal of her profession of faith/baptismal vows, and is part of the preparation for her Confirmation in two years time.

Luckily for me the tablecloth on the day will be burgundy-red and white, so the tray fits beautifully into the theme. (Nope, I didn't plan it that way), I just realised after attaching the ribbons to the dragées that it would suit perfectly.

The miniature wicker baskets contain glass beads and are just for decorative purposes to add a touch of burgundy to the settings.

Very nice, Santana!

I started taking a spinning class last weekend. This is my very first yarn on a drop spindle.

There are only a few yards of that one, but I was thinking of making a little wristlet out of it. I've only been at it for a week, but I have a number of yarns finished, some I even have enough to actually make things like hats and such. We flew to Wyoming for Grandma's funeral, and I was able to spin on the plane both directions, so I got a LOT done. I am loving the drop spindle because it's so portable, but this week we get to use a wheel and I'm really excited.

We had a Himalayan cat once, and my husband kept the combings from him. He always meant to find someone to spin it up for him so I could make him a hat.

It's Sunday again and I've had the evening to myself to do as I wish. I put together this scrapbook page which my children have been asking for for ages. It's my brother's dog, Murphy, who was spoiled rotten by my children when we visited last summer.

Still waiting to see your ventures into the world of Scrapbooking, Sue Look on it as doing a BIG card, and adding a photo (or two), would that make it any less daunting?

Today was my last Wednesday off work *sniff*

I spent the afternoon with my friend and we made some clothes for the kids for summer. Here's a snap of the shorts I made for my 5 year old.

I have been busy.

The first is a birthday card for my sister, the second is a birthday card for a friend who lives in an art deco apartment and has it decorated in that style (that is metallic gold, not yellow), and the third one is for my optician. I was trying to explain what I was doing which requires hours of focusing close up so I said I would make her one - that one took about eight hours!

Everybody here is so very talented! I haven't looked at this thread since before Christmas because I get so depressed looking at craft work. I love doing crafts, but living the way that I do on the road makes it very difficult to do what I'd like. I decided to pop in today and I'm sorry that I haven't been checking this thread on a daily basis! Everybody's work is just beautiful! Cards, sweaters, jewelry, scrapbooks...people of FT are so creative. I'm sticking around!

My niece's birthday is next week, and I made her a card whilst my sister and I were at a crop this evening.

Her name means "butterfly", hence the sticker, and the photo is from her birthday last year.

I made up a pattern for the baby girl expected by a friend , who used to dance. So this is in case the new addition becomes a ballerina too.We have to stop knitting here now as the weather is not really suitable for knitting, or wearing woollies.

That is so sweet Sara.

Liz, that is a nice idea to incorporate the photo of her.

Oh, that is an adorable outfit, Sara!

Liz, your niece will be thrilled with her birthday card. I love the background paper you used - is it from one sheet or you combined the stripes from various papers? Great colours .
