Here's the use to which I put that previously posted tray:

The boxes contain sugared almonds (called
dragées) and are offered to guests on any ceremonial occasion here in France (Weddings, baptisms, etc). These ones are to celebrate my daughter's
Communion Solonelle, or renewal of her profession of faith/baptismal vows, and is part of the preparation for her Confirmation in two years time.
Luckily for me the tablecloth on the day will be burgundy-red and white, so the tray fits beautifully into the theme. (Nope, I didn't plan it that way), I just realised after attaching the ribbons to the
dragées that it would suit perfectly.
The miniature wicker baskets contain glass beads and are just for decorative purposes to add a touch of burgundy to the settings.
