The best way to avoid that happening might be to have breakfast in the kitchen rather than the bedroom, no?

I've been playing around again tonight and put this Scrap page together. The colours are way nicer 'in the flesh' - the flash didn't agree with the transparencies I used, nor the glittery bits, and the overall image has come out much duller than the reality.

Anyhow, here's my youngest aged 9 months, just about to take off on the wild adventure known as 'walking'. By 10.5 months he had it off to a fine art, and by 26 months this same chappie was racing around on his two-wheeler, desperately trying to keep up with his older brother

Aww, how sweet is that, Santana.

"by 26 months this same chappie was racing around on his two-wheeler, desperately trying to keep up with his older brother"

Sounds like my youngest with his oldest brother - it is a great motivator isn't it?

I made my mask today - the ball is tomorrow - and I found that it looked better plain.
Sorry about the bad picture quality, I took one with the normal camera then realised that we had lost the cable for it, so had to use my phone.

The glitter didn't come like that. we used plain black for the first coat then sprinkled some royal blue mixed with holographic blue and silver for effect.

Edited to replace picture with better one

I love Lynda's quilt and all the scrapbooking! Denni, the dress card is really elegent. Ren, I love Cinderella, she would grace any bathroom
I've been busy making "friendship bracelets". They are usually done with embroidery cotton but I don't have the hang of twisting the cottons. So I've made them with tiny seed beads. All of them in Hogwarts colours

I've been very busy embroidering a Advent Calender, and going to put pockets for each day, to stuff with goodies I shall take a picture of it, before the pockets go on and after. It's been a big project but well worth the effort

Nice work, Jane.

I'd also like to see the advent calendar when you have it completed. I've been meaning to make one for my kids for, oh, only about 12 years now, but haven't yet gotten around to starting it I am making progress, however, as I did buy a DMC advent calendar kit at the start of the summer. One look at the amount of floss in need of sorting before I begin was enough to have me put the whole lot away for a while until I psych myself up into getting stuck in. I guess it won't be ready for this Christmas ...

Anyhow, to clear my conscience , I put together this Scrapbook page of one of my boys aged 3. I have always particularly like the photos, and found a nice quote which seemed to suit ~ Seek the wisdom of the ages, but look at the world through the eyes of a child. Sounds like good advice to me

I like the bracelets, Jane, and look forward to the Advent calendar.

Love that, Santana, the photos are beautiful and that's the perfect words to go with them.

Off topic(as usual!) but it just strikes me how beautiful all the children are whose photos members have posted here. Aren't they though?

That's probably because us parents 'cheat' (at least I do) and only post the photos which make our kids look good? I have to 'fess up to taking 20 or 30 photos at a go in the hopes of having one or two which are worth displaying

All kids look great, in my opinion. Who can resist that miniature human being, full of life and mischief, that future adult in the making, the sheer potential each and every child holds, no matter what the physical features are like?

WOW, I am sooooooo excited! I have just won USD 50.00 on another craft forum, one which I joined after seeing Denni and Sue mention it first here. Thank you both sooooo much for posting about it, and indeed, thanks in a way to Copago for getting me started on the road to Scrapbooking as it was her page about 'Snow at Orange' which spoke to me and made me realise that I, too, could have a go!

Here's a photo of a card I have just made using a technique called Iris Folding. It's my first attempt, and I can see at least one glaring error. I will aslo never use see-through ribbon again, as it gets covered over behind and spoils the effect. Never mind, I guess I have to start somewhere if I'm ever to make any progress.

I think I'll give it to my daughter who loves horses, and whose favourite colour is blue.

I think that is great - good luck in the challenge. Enter something in the General too, that gets a lot of entries so the prize is higher.

With encouragement like that I feel I'll just have to enter. The fact that the Victorian theme is also a pet favourite of mine has nothing to do with me entering, right? All that remains is for inspiration to strike...

What a lovely card Jane. I'm sure when Prince William is older and looks at the card he will think of you fondly.
Hope the Christening day is warm and sunny.

Well I've mentioned my Advent Calendar several times. There are three stages of it - one with no pockets, one with the pockets on it (which is being worked on at the moment!) and the finished product, when it is backed onto fabric and hanging up. Here is the first stage!

The inspiration came from a design in a Jo Verso book. Jo Verso was a wonderful designer, her patterns were simple and quick to do. Unfortunately, she died some years ago, but I have wanted to do the calendar for many years. Stayed tuned for the second stage ... eventually!
