I just finished "Cuss Control" by James V. O'Connor, about swearing and how we can cut it out from our vocabulary. It examines all the ways it creeps into our talk, mostly in casual speech and when we're really angry. And also suggests alternatives to it. I found it a unique and very fascinating book. tjoeb};>

wow, I wish that was around when I was teaching social skills to juvenile delinquints. I had to teach a class in "Successful Substitution." Cursing was almost entrenched in some of thei vocabularies. I'll still have to check it out.

tjoebigham, can you tell us more about this book? You have me mighty curious now!

I don't want you to spoil it for anyone or keep anyone from reading the book themselves, but is there anything that you can share with us (tips, alternatives, etc) that you can give us to pique our curiousity even more?!

Hmmmm...it's time for a trip to my local library anyway.... I think I may have something to put on my list of things to check for!
