The problem is, the potentially affected areas are enormous. No one has any ideas where the fires will start- just that they will.

Chris, I know you have lots of animals. Are they ok , were they much affected by the smoke etc?

The animals are all OK so far. After the 2003 fires, we did lose one goat from respiratory problems some time after the fire.
