I go to Pilates a couple of times a week, and a very polite sign asks that we remove our outer footwear upon entering the building. Not too many boots there...yet!

My boy and his dog. Took this today and it reminded me of the saying "Every boy should have two things: a dog, and a mother willing to let him have one" can't remember who said it though.

That is so gorgeous, just look at his expression.

This is a photograph of the first orchid bloom this year on a plant my daughter bought for my birthday back in 2000 when she was a student. I am normally death to plants so this is something special.

We woke to find this giant beautiful caterpillar on the tree right outside our door one morning. He was right at eye level so I was able to really zoom in on him before he got away.

Gee Copago, Conner looks so happy with his friend. I also see he has the latest fashions of kneeless jeans.

There are large areas of bullrushes around here, and they're a valuable habitat for lake and marsh birds. I'm minded of the Biblical story of baby Moses whenever I see them.

Now this is a diferent mother and lamb from the first one picture. I know all sheep look alike. These two were sleeping in the shade on the other side of the road.

When I was taking pictures by the river the other day I spotted this cat, who seemed to be watching me. He sat so still that for awhile I thought he was a rock!

Here's a closer look at him.

Inspired by Peggy, here are three sheep I took yesterday at the foot of Ben Nevis. No I didn't climb the mountain, that's the route of the cross-country course, that went through that muddy patch you see. Actually it was easier running through that ankle deep mud than going to the sides, which were equally muddy, but not so flat. There were a flock of sheep in the field we ran through, but they were quite friendly despite those horns.

The candidate for the local elections, to take place next week was canvassing in the village. Heaven knows why, since he is the only candidate!

Today in the UK, and in many other countries, is Remembrance Sunday. On 11th November 1918 the Armistice was signed to end World War One. I attended the wreath laying ceremony in our local town, and thought this image of a little blind girl feeling the wreaths was particularly poignant.

In response to SpanishLiz's photo.

Given our proximity to one another I'd love to know if you spotted my cat Junior - He is prone to taking long walks for days at a time!

Goodness, they do look similar, don't they!?
It would be a very long walk from Pittsburgh, but perhaps he's been 'riding the rails'? The railway bridge is just behind the cat in my photo

Not so Liz. Pittsburgh is where my heart lives, the rest of me is near you; We live in Fort Drum NY, just miles from the border!
And we do have a railway that runs right through the post - you never know, he does 'go to work' just about every day - leaving the house at 8 or so and returning at dinner time. I wouldn't put it past him!

Indoor gardening projects. The seedlings are to be next year's Lavender bushes.

Picqero, that photo is very touching. Nice.

Here are some of our locals out having a snack:

And here they are deciding my daughter must have something better than salad. (she was very shortly thereafter surrounded, so I don't have a pic of them closer because she got a bit scared. )

And here are some visitors from the coast.

I took the North Point Ferry today for the first time ever, I will show you that later. Here is a dear old boat that I saw as we docked
The windows are stained glass and could be art deco. Nice old thing

Spot the cow. No, I don't mean the cow's name is 'Spot' . I mean there is a distant cow in the photo. I've made seeing it easier with a zoomed bit. There are a few other cows there too but this one was the nearest:

I am loving all the critter photos! Sheep, geese, cows, cats...all quite cute.

So of course I must add to it. This is Tiki - she is a pygmy goat that lives at the ranch where I take riding lessons. I posted R2D2 last month, and Tiki is his new friend. She is very sweet, and followed me like a dog!
