Not sure what is going on with my computer, but all of a sudden after having problems trying to login to Webkinz, and still having problems with Webkinz not loading right on my computer,
1. I tried upgrading to the newest Adobe Flashplayer
2. Then all of a sudden my computer starts doing this weird screen when I tried to reboot the computer.
3. It said something with chkdsk and kept saying these really weird codes and something else that it was recovering something

What would cause this to happen?

I also still can't get Webkinz to load for me. Does anyone around here have Webkinz, and if so, can you get the site to load right?
I don't know if this is a problem with my computer or what.

The only reason I'm not sure is because the other day on Thanksgiving, my brother-in-law who knows alot about computers was trying to look at my computer and see if he could help me out with any of the problems I keep having lately.
So, not sure if any of the things he did could have messed it up.
Programs he put on my computer:
1. ATF_Cleaner.exe
2. Spywareblaster

He also changed some settings with my Virtual Memory. Which I don't even know what Virtual Memory does?

SpywareBlaster might be blocking Webkinz. Blockers can go over the top sometimes and block content that is needed. There is a list of blocked sites/elements in SpywareBlaster Options and it is possible to make 'exceptions' if something is blocking a site. Look down the list and if you see anything to do with Webkinz, untick it. You could disable SpywareBlaster's protection altogether before doing this, just to make sure the program is the culprit.

The 'messages' problem on boot-up might be to do with an anti-spyware program having only partially removed something it saw as malware. Whatever it was may still have parts of it left looking for the removed files.

Also run 'Error-checking' on the C:\ drive to see if anythiing is reported. This might be relevant to the 'chkdsk' message:

* Double-click My Computer and then right-click on the C:\ drive icon.

* Select 'Properties' and then select the Tools tab.

* Under Error-checking, click 'Check Now'.

If error messages persist, it might be necessary to download and use a diagnostic program called 'HijackThis' that will analyse and log programs running on your computer. The log would then need reading by someone specialising in that area. It would probably be better to go to a forum dedicated to computer advice for this. If you decide to create a HijackThis log, let me know and I'll recommend a forum for you to use.

Thank you so much for all this help.

I'll go check and see if I can figure anything out.

Looks like I might have to call a repairman out, but don't know who to use now.
The last guy that came out removed HijackThis from my computer and did a terrible job. I had HijackThis and was getting some help from this one site http://groups.msn.com/FreewareandShareware
They were helping me with what seems to be a resource problem that started after all the spyware that got loaded on my computer from the Bellsouth cd and started causing my CPU thing to go up to 100% most of the time. Especially when trying to use my scanner. Plus everything else on my computer was going so slow too.
The website had helped me and got things working better for a bit with everything and then all of a sudden my scanner stopped working again.
So, the repairman we were using didn't believe me about the problem being a resource problem and said you can seriously mess up the computer using HijackThis and then he removed it.

There had been other work he was doing too for us trying to get Bellsouth working out on my mom's computer and it was a problem with the connectors. So, he did get that working. But with everything else, he did a terrible job.

So far, looks like Spywareblaster isn't the problem. Just got done looking through the list of things it's blocking and didn't see Webkinz in the list anywhere.

Guess I'll figure out what I'll try next. These computer problems are so stressfull to deal with and stress is not good for me either due to my health not ever doing good.

This is really weird, now I seem to be able to login to Webkinz ok.
Maybe clicking on Spywareblaster and just looking around triggered something to start working again. Really weird.

But anyways, I still can't believe the repairman removed HijackThis and wouldn't even listen to me when I was showing him what all the people at that site were helping me with.

I'm glad that all is well now.

HijackThis is a powerful program. It is OK to create a log using it but not OK to start deleting anything. That's why the recommendation is for getting the log analysed by somebody familiar with using the program. Perhaps your repairman felt mistakes might be made with it and removed it for that reason.

What sites have people around here used for HijackThis logs?
I was also wondering, some places that offer free help, actually the site I mentioned above and the link is still in my above post, say they can go into my computer from their end. Is that safe to do? Of course since it's free help, why not try it?
We looked through the phone book, and keep having bad luck running into repairmen who keep messing up with things and all.
My mom even still has this weird blue screen she keeps getting on her computer everytime she boots up that the repairman we had been using can't seem to get off.

Amy, I wouldn't advise you to let strangers have complete control of your personal computer, especially through Internet/remote access.

That's my personal opinion, of course. There are maybe 4 people I would allow to 'get nosey' with my PC, and I know them all very, very well and trust them to be honest dealers.
