I feel sorry for those up north dealing with snow and ice today
On that note, here's the same tree that looked so pretty yesterday, showing the effects of an overnight accumulation of ice from the freezing rain.

Ren, I love the snowmen! They're talented 4-year olds
That old bridge is beautiful, Peggy.

Thanks for the welcome. This is a seasonal visitor to my kitchen! He came in and I took the picture quickly before he got too stressed, he is a robin redbreast who lives in the garage, he is very daring, today he tried to get into a car!

I went to the hospital to have my annual echocardiogram and ECG this afternoon and thought I would take photos of the Christmas trees in the Clinical Investigations Department and the clown of a technician struck a pose for me - rotten photo as he is rather dishy! This is the other tree in the department.

That's lovely , Lisa, well worth the struggle. Maybe they are worth something as antiques?

Thanks, ren. I wondered if they were worth something as well and thought I'd do some checking.

interesting image, but I doubt if the old sprayer would be worth much in antique value, as old machinery usually needs to be in good condition for collectors. There are people who love to restore such things, but it's a very time consuming and expensive business. It would certainly be nice if you could get one or more of these interested! My image for today is a lifesize Empire Trooper 'statue' on the South Bank of the Thames in London.

Great shot, Lynn! I love all that snow, Argus! I'm sure it's prettier when you're inside than when you're out. Picqero, interesting photo of the Stormtrooper, but I must say his neck is exceedingly long! Wonder what happened to him? Vendome's sad thread about his poor dog has made me nostalgic for my sweet Tess. This photo was taken nearly a year ago, about 1 month before we had to have her put down. She was the ornerist, but most loveable dog ever.

Lyn, just spied your feathered friend. Love him! How is it that he came to reside in your carport? We had a bird for a short time when he and his sib were found outside my door one July evening. I nursed him and tried to release hime but I guess he thought of me as his mom because I'd set him free and he'd fly right back to me. Luckily we found a couple who wanted to take in a sparrow and they drove five hours for him. To this day he's alive and kicking in Orange County, NY and we get a Christmas card from them every year!

He is wild but comes in when he feels like it---at risk to life and limb as we have several dogs and a cat! Robins are known for being cheeky and he runs true to form. Well done on rescuing yours, I have never had much luck rearing birds.

I think that's great that he comes to visit. It's a testament to you that he feels safe enough to return despite the danger he faces with the furry kids. You must have great food!

Ooh, that's a great photo, satguru. Somebody suggested "opposites" on the theme suggestion page, and that fits the bill! I like them both too - really love the blue door on the white one.
