Another image from my visit to Birmingham. Every year a 'Bavarian Market' is staged in New Street, near The Bullring, when German traders come to sell their Christmas produce. This is the top of the Santa carousel at the entrance to the market.

This is on a much smaller scale, but the little train at the entrance to one of our housing blocks/shopping malls is on the go all day. I do like trains!

I just got in from my sister and brother-in-law's Christmas "open house". I snapped this pic of the nibbles buffet before it was all laid out - in order to do so before the hungry hordes descended (you can see the first one in the background).

Hoop Lane as it crosses the main shops in Golders Green. My first full time job was just the other side of the crossroads and was bad enough to send me back to college.

Here's the "after" photo of the nibbles buffet at my sister's last night. Some new things have been added, but there are lots of empty plates. The food was very, very good.

Now I find different customs from other countries fascinating. Here is a way of curling hair that is used in the poorer villages of the Philippines. You strip the leaves of sweet potato plants so all you have is the stem, and you roll your hair, or at least , your friend does. I took some closeups of Lina with Susan next door , and you can see how cleverly they are fastened.

The results were lovely , and apparently she could sleep in them without pain.
This is what the ladies do when they cannot afford to go to a hairdressers, but to me it seems very good 'green' practice anyway.

It's funny that this is what they do as a less expensive 'salon treatment.'

If this was offered at a high end salon, it would be considered trendy, and very costly!

I think it's just amazing!

My roses are starting to bloom.

This is our "old crib". My Nanna (Mum's Mum) got it, and my older sister remembers it so it must be almost fifty years old. It's a very simple nativity scene/crib but I am very fond of it

Tomorrow will be the "new" crib

Here's one of the Squirrel Shots I took before the snow began to fall. Here he is trying to eat berries from the bush right outside my living room window. I wouldn't have seen him but I could hear Junior chirping at him from inside. I managed to get a few snaps of him before he realized he was being watched, then he bolted.

It snowed again today - lots of snow, and then some more. Here's Winston trying to tell me that his feet are cold. He also seems to be sticking his tongue out at me, poor lamb.

Haven't posted for a couple of days so I haven't gotten to comment on all the great photos! From delicious to adorable - keep 'em comin'!

Last weekend I was out driving and saw roadrunners, quail, and coyotes, and didn't get a shot of any of them. So instead I have this photo of Roger's Dry Lake Bed, where Edwards AFB is located. NASA's facility is on the bottom left of the photo. The large hill in the distance across the bed is called "Rocket Ridge", where they test rocket engines deep inside the ridge, and allow the exhaust to vent out of the side.
