This was a tough choice for me as I have lots of snaps that could have fit nicely here, but I chose this one just for the humour.

I took this a few years ago while on a trip to Brugge. I call it:

Soft candle light for those cold winter nights.

A rainbow; a coloured arc created by the refraction of sunlight in droplets of rain. I saw this one locally just a few weeks ago, and managed to 'snap' it!

A couple thoughts on "light" - here is a photo I snapped this morning of the rising sun through my frosty car window.

And, to reveal a little of my true self, my first name is "Elaine" - see this link:
name meaning

My whole family calls me "Lainey", as opposed to "djsgal".

This one was hard. The only idea I had was the lights in my living room

One of my favorite Christmas decorations - the light reflects in all the little trees.

Not a very good photo I'm afraid. I'm going to have to experiment some more with the camera settings and also borrow a tripod! This is the first photo of the Christmas lights on our house, taken on December 1, which is when we turn them on each year. I'll have to take another photo in a few weeks' time because Maynooth will be sure to add more lights - he can't help himself. He's already added another set of lights down the driveway as of yesterday! The main problem with all these lights is storing them for the rest of the year! Unfortunately, I couldn't fit the whole house in the photo but this is most of it. The photo doesn't really do it justice. It looks so much better in real life.

My bedside lamp took a lot of damage when it fell off the cupboard. I hope Santa brings me a new one!

I was walking along this path this afternoon just before sunset (3pm more or less) and saw the trees and path were literally green. There was no alteration of the photo, this was the exact colour, mainly from the sun reflecting off the grass and moss covered trees. I don't think I've ever seen such a natural effect before.

And those lights looked fine to me MG, all the bulbs were bright and the house was visible clearly.

Thanks Satguru. I love your photo - it's stunning. Isn't it great when you take a photo that manages to catch the right colours or the right effect? It's always nice when a photo does justice to the subject photographed.

I'm honored that you chose my suggestion for this weeks theme. I don't know what I was thinking when I suggested it, but I'm loving the photos that I'm seeing.

A campfire that we had built by the lake edge and was our only source of light in the evenings. I love sitting around a campfire.

A reflection of some stalactites in water. Taken in the Victoria Fossil Cave in Naracoorte. They are all lit up and they look really pretty.
It took me a while to figure out which way was up, but I got it eventually.
