Heraldsun story

hehe, what a way to put the cat amongst the pigeons! A Kiwi coaching the Wallabies?!?

It will be interesting to see what tack he tacks with it - will he gear it towards a more Kiwi style of Rugby?

Except for soccer I can't think of a major men's sporting team that has had a coach from overseas before.

As the Queen would say...."We are not amused"!
He was rejected over here because he needed international coaching experience before being given The Top Job in Rugby. Also, here in NZ we have a habit of firing the coaches when they haven't brought home the cup and there was a real feeling that it was about time a coach had to stay on and clean up his own mess.So it wasn't really about Robbie's abilities. I personally didn't think Robbie Deans would then go(spitting his dummy out of the pram on the way) and sign up to take Auzzie through to the next world cup which is being played on NZ soil.[And if you guys won in 2011,/God Forbid LOL/he wouldn't get a job here driving a bus!]
Sadly for us Kiwis,I think that when Deans takes over his Auzzie coaching role our media will go into a frenzied overdrive and it will be all about the clash of the coaches rather than the 2 great rugby nations competing on the field.
