Cambodian wedding was thrown into chaos when
the groom's wife and 17-month-old son stumbled across him and a new spouse greeting guests outside their reception party, local media and
restaurant staff said.

Local daily Rasmei Kampuchea reported Soung Soh Leap, 30, and her son believed Lam Davuth, 38, was away on business and were going to market when they happened by a restaurant and saw him with a new bride welcoming guests.

A receptionist at Sorya Restaurant confirmed the story.

"The first wife screamed a lot ... but after he talked quietly to the other bride, the new one seemed okay," the receptionist, who declined to be named, said by telephone.

Police said they declined Soh Leap's requests to intervene as it was a domestic matter and the wedding eventually went on.

Adultery and bigamy are criminal offences punishable by jail in Cambodia, but Soh Leap would need to make a formal complaint to the court before action could be taken, police said.

The 'hidden' penalty for bigamy is TWO mothers-in-law...

LOL!! But what is he thinking? He couldn't even do it in another town where the chance of being spotted by anyone he knew let alone the wife was a little more remote?

"The first wife screamed a lot" .. can you imagine? Oh to be a Cambodian speaking fly on the wall!

And not one 'friend' invited to the wedding thought to tell the first wife... They must have been invited. What a crazy world.

The French wedding ceremony requires that you state all your names including married ones from prior marriages.
Apparently many a surprise has happened during this requirement!

I know one woman who realized she'd forgotten to mention that she'd been married twice before her new husband.

Well not simultaneously.

there's another case of a woman who had about ten husbands simultaneously in Florida this past week. She was marrying them for the green card or immigration papers, yet neglected to tell them she didn't have one either.

Ten husbands, the mind boggles.

I hope she files the complaint. I imagine that it would be hard enough to find out that your husband/wife was a bigamist without actually wandering into the wedding.

I hope she files and wins! The nerve of the man! What a story, really. There's an aspect of it that's pretty hilarious but I really hope she doesn't back down. He's got it coming to him.
