We were just discussing how good the first one was that we decided we'd watch it again with our son and then take him to the theater to see the new one. He would rather see 'Alvin & The Chipmunks' but we feel "Nat'l Treasure 2" would be better for his developing mind, even if it is based in part in fantasy.

My favourite action adventure of all time, probably. The first one had all the elements dear to my heart - comedy, mystery, history and hard core museum conservation banter. What more could a girl ask for?

Since [ for once] my family agrees with me, we'll try to see it Christmas night. I've been waiting for two years....guess I can wait a few days longer, though it took everything I had not to jump in the car when it came out last Friday.

It's great, it's interesting and makes you think. If you watched the T.V. show Treasure Hunters, it's like that. Also it's pretty funny too.

I didn't think it was too bad. Not the usual garbage put out there as a sequel in a blatant money-grab, so I was impressed by that.

Worth a cheap Tuesday ticket, I suppose.

I liked the movie as well, especially for a sequel. Still don't get why they called it Book of Secrets, when that was only a part of the story. I think they should have gone with no subtitle for this one, just call it #2. I thought the first 2/3 of the movie was great, but it tailed off in the last part, as if it was rushed rather then fully thought out like the rest of the script.

Book Of Secrets was just fair as sequels go. The original cast members all turned out, with the welcome addition of
crusty Helen Mirren as Ben's mother Emily.
One good London chase scene, some acid -coated interaction between estranged Abigail and Ben, some wonderfully photo- shopped treasure scenes, the usual clever clue deduction from Ben....and that about covers it
Not even such a sharp and talented cast could really pull this script out of the fire. This movie might've been good, but obviously the writers had other, more pressing commitments and rushed this one through in a hurry.

I actually enjoyed the film, although I do wish it was a bit more like the first.

I thought the character of Riley was excellent, even better than in the first!

So once again an American actor (Nicolas Van Cage) does the " Cor blimey guv'nor" bit and as usual does an appalling London accent. What I would like to ask is this. Do Americans actually think that Londoners talk like this, or more to the point do American actors think we talk like this and actually think they're passing off a good impression?
These so called Cockney impressions are laughable and somewhat embarrassing and I'm hoping that the American visitiors here don't actually believe this. Do American tourists who have been to London for example think we sound like Nicolas Cage's impression?
BTW I also think British actors do poor American accents, think Bob Hoskins in 'Roger Rabbit' and 'Mermaids'.

I thought it went without saying that Ben did this to create a distraction - even the Bobbie who took him to the lockup made some comment about Ben being 'another American.' The accent was supposed to be a hackneyed, overblown charicature.

I went to this movie with a friend of mine and I just said three words as we walked out...

Too f%^#^@#g American.

This is just my personal oppinion.
I though this movie was just too borring and was made with the usual adventure formula.
Ancient ruins-car chase-smart tricks-conspiracy all in one.

Cage acted himself which is just terrible because in acting you are supposed to be someone else..and make others believe you are someone else...

Cheap movie.
One more thing I said about it was about walt disney getting involved doing other movies than cartoon and children movies.

But I guess even Disney likes cash..
