Okay all "Lost" fans..."Lost" Season 4 will officially premier on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at 8 PM (US EST). The first hour is a special to catch us up on the program and the actual first episode begins at 9 PM (US EST).

With this season comes a lot of questions, what ifs, whys and whats. Like:

What happens when the people from the off-shore freighter come to the island? Will the Castaways be rescued or will they be in danger like Ben said?

What if Ben is actually telling the truth? Will the island and all the inhabitants be in mortal danger?

Why wasn't the Smoke Monster seen in Season 3's season finale? Is it possible that Smokey will protect the island from the people on the off-shore freighter?

Did Locke actually see Walt and was it really Walt who helped Locke out of the ditch?

Who is Jacob? Is it possible he is the one who made himself appear to be Walt to help Locke, so Locke could then in turn help him?

Is Charlie really dead? Or is it possible that Desmond can somehow save him? If Charlie is really dead, will Desmond be able to tell the survivors that the ship isn't Penny's?

Who was the person who died in Jack's flashforward? Could it have been Locke or possibly Ben?

Only way we're going to know is to watch...36 days and counting to what promises to be an action packed season of "Lost"!

I have a theory about smokey.
The island was for research right? And rusoe I think it was mentioned that the “monster” was a sort of protection, and in the Dharma tapes it was mentioned that something on the island went wrong (other than the attack by ben).
I think this smoke is a sort of nano-technology creation. See Michael chrictons “prey”
It fits. The particles would swarm together creating a smokey appearance. If they were created with AI they could easily get out of control and hurt their creators. In the book prey, the particles could take on the form of a swarm that resembled a person, hence all these “hallucinations” people see. And the sonic devices used as a barrier around the others sites would act to protect the others from the smoke. The sound waves would interfere with the nano particles
LOL even I laugh at my crazy idea but its fun to guess at what will be revealed next!

So tonight's the night - we get the Season 3 finale as a refresher and then tomorrow a two hour season opener (the first hour being a recap of the series thus far), both of my DVRs are set and I'm turning off all phones!
