Just a note that I don't wear anything else only thongs. No boxers or briefs in my drawers. Pardon the pun.

Sandy - thank's for the plug.

Stu- as I said in the quiz, those that score full marks need professional help.

Trevor - you never wear anything but thongs? Doesn't that get a bit chilly at this time of year?

I generally go for "cute and slinky," though I've learned over the years that you can combine slinkiness with comfort, if you're careful. Alas, this is NOT possible with thongs. They are always uncomfortable. I dislike them, but I do own some clothes with which thongs must be worn.

I draw the line at the low-rider jeans and trousers mentioned by Ren, above which the thongs can be seen. Tacky, tacky, tacky.

Laughing out Loud, Sal. I should say during winter I wear long johns over my thongs. I forgot to mention that. It can be quite cold up North to the point of overly cold.

Thanks for the image Trevor!

Forgot to add, agree with Ren about the thongs and low rise trousers. Agreed there are times when thongs are the only sensible options, but I always thought they were invented to your knickers COULDN'T be seen.

Totally agree there!

Usually seen just above the waistline of the thong, is the equally tacky tattoo.

Ive seen this kind of thing on girls as young as 18 and women as old as 45 - and it looks just as tacky on both in my opinion. Pure exhibitionism.
Only the other day, I was in the supermarket, and saw a young mother with bits of metal hanging off every appendage, tattoos on her neck, shoulders, and "chest", and the mandatory low waist jeans and thong - I thought she looked like something out of a freak show ..........
She got what she obviously wanted - everyone was looking at her.

I'm with SuperSal - I thought the idea behind (he he he) the thong was so that it appeared to those who cared to look that the wearer was not wearing any underwear, whilst their bits were in fact covered.

I've attempted to wear a thong - lasted all of about 45 seconds. "Bum floss" is how those things are referred to in my line of work, and I agree with the title. I don't know how anybody can wear them without the urge to pick them out of one's nether regions.

Give me the comfort of my Nanna's any day. Also, I've had to strip down to my undies at work after being contaminated with a chemical. All the firefighters were well glad I wear comfortable undies too!

But, thanks to this story, I now know why all the superheroes wear their undies on the outside. How else could you whip them off quickly in order to put out a fire?

And I always thought they wore them on the outside to keep their tights (leotards) snug

Gosh, this is the strangest thread. I'm sitting next to my friend who is on another computer and no doubt she is wondering why I am laughing so much.

Just for the record, I sure hope that size 18 isn't giant, because I range anywhere from a 10 to a 16. The companies can't seem to regulate the sizes.

Tell her that the BBC said I have a fat backside! Humph, and they didn't apologise.

Better to have a fire out with them, than the fire in, I say.

LOL Folks
And I can't believe the BBC...they should have sent you a LARGE box of chocolates as an apology
And NOBODY has admitted to going "commando" yet. Guess that's a big "Up" for the comfy-knicker-club

You betcha. It's better to be comfortable than wear something silly.[ true - I haven't always felt that way]
I admit I haven't thought about such things one way or the other for a very long time.

M & S 'Underwear under Fire' This time not a chip pan in sight.

Standards slipping? Apparently so - along with everything else, according to Jeremy Paxman.

Too much thong and dance, me thinks...

I loved this comment from the article:

"What's more worrying is the chafing i have begun to experience from the M&S range. If you look closely at the expression on Antonio Banderas face during the M&S advert you know he is experiencing similar problems."

I loved that whole article! I was surprised at how many people wrote comments. Most of them agreed with Mr. Paxman.
