On weekends I usually get up around 10:00, but that's because I stay up forever playing around here. I try to stop, but it's always "one more quiz, one more Word Wizard, stay up for another hour, go for the 'country' badge...". This site is like a narcotic, once you start, you can't stop. (although this site is much more healthy and fun than a narcotic)
On school days I get up about an hour and a half before school. That allows me to take a shower, eat breakfast, and play a few quizzes. This time I HAVE to stop.
It's 1 a.m. here and I have school tomorrow, I better get to bed.

My alarm is set for 6:22. Not sure why, just is. I am almost always up before it goes off. On the weekend, I often sleep until almost 8 a.m.! Whoo-hoo!

When I've had enough sleep.. whenever that is, unless something wakes me up! I'll just wake up naturally, never been much for schedules and alarm clocks, as long as I get done what I want.

I work shift work - so the wake-up time depends on the start time.
Because of the shift work, my bedroom is a carefully controlled environment. It is always dark, and it is always at a constant temperature that is conducive to sleeping. I learned this trick when working on-call. You know - go to work for 8 hours, go home, phone rings, go back to work for as many hours as necessary, report for shift the same time as the day before.
Me - I can sleep in the passenger seat of an ambulance doing 90 with the lights and sirens going. As soon as my eyes are open, I'm awake and fully funtional.
On days off - I can sleep through dogs barking, the lawnmower outside the window, visitors ringing the doorbell, just about anything. I even sleep through the phone ringing - except one ringtone. Everytime I hear the "Star Wars theme" I am fully awake - that's the tune my phone plays when work are calling. Anybody else has to wait until I'm ready to wake up. Or go to my Communications room and call.

On school days I get up at 7:30am and I leave the house at 8:30 to get to school 5 mins later as the school is right beside my house and school starts. Sometimes I grab a cereal bar a thome or I get something to eat at school.

As you might guess, I am also reading bigsoxy's posts from back in the day. I decided to re-open this thread (and who knows, I might re-open others too) so that people not posting back then can, if they wish, add to the thread.

I get up when His Majesty Queen Tiye wants his breakfast (yes, he's a boy with a female pharaoh's name, long story). So I wake up between 5:30 and 7:30 am, with bounces on my back, things getting thrown off my night table and, if I'm still motionless, he jumps on the vanity table and sits by my perfume bottles with a paw raised like a maneki neko. I know he means business by then. On the weekends, I usually go back for another hour of sleep, once he's fed. On workdays, I have plenty of time to get ready, maybe play a little, before I leave for work.

Funny how it has changed over the years...............
Those who have been in armed forces, know you get up when you are TOLD to get up! So that was variable........worst was 72 hrs on duty...........4hrs on, 4 hrs off for 72 hours. The most sleep I got at any one time during that period was about 3hrs!
Then as a civilian again, I worked nights for nearly 4 years...........but when back to normality as regards sleep, used to get up at 0700, wash/shave, etc....swig down coffee, have "morning cough", out of house at 0740 and at work 0745 (yes I lived that close to work in those days).
Tail end of working life.......often had to get up at 0400, to be at work 0530. Then did a shift pattern for a while, 3 days, 3 nights, 3 off.
BLISS - retirement......"My time is my own I can get up when I feel like it"...........WRONG !!! Alarm goes off at 0600, because wife has NOT retired and that is when she has to get up! I seldom need the alarm to wake me though, as I have been woken by one of our cats long before then! "Come on Dad, breakfast time"....purr, purr!!

I am an early riser and always have been. I usually get straight up about 5:30 and get the garden and the pet animals done ... big garden and lots of pets. Takes about an hour to do all that and then the rest of the house is up and we have brekkie.

Another early riser here, I'm usually awake before the alarm rings at 05h30, and often up as well, though I do try to stay in bed at least until 5am. I probably don't sleep enough, averaging 4-5 hours a night.

I don't sleep a lot either Toni but I have my lack of sleep the other end of the day so I tend to not go to bed until the early hours and even then I read in bed before sleeping.

I go to bed around midnight and often get up as early as 5-00 a.m. Mostly around 5-45 a.m. though. After a cup of coffee, a watch of the News and a browse around the computer forums, I'll sometimes go back to bed, especially now that we're having some cold mornings. Might doze until 9-OO a.m. Just have to hope nobody comes knocking on the door before then.

Good for you!
Both of my next door neighbours have both husband and wife working fulltime and the man on my left leaves home at some ghastly hour of the morning, but does finish earlier, the man on my right normally cycles to work but I see that today he has taken his car.

I know it doesn't matter that much but I like to be up and dressed if anyone comes calling early(ish) in the morning. I had a parcel delivery this morning. I got a call from the parcel delivery company at 8-00 to say that they would be calling in about half an hour. I was dressed, teeth brushed and hair combed by the time the knock on the door came. I didn't have a shave though. How rebellious is that?!
