Another of bigsoxy's threads. smile

Having had a few more years to consider this I would say that I am not artistic but am a fairly good copyist. Mostly I make greetings cards and can normally produce something pleasing, to me at any rate, it is a case of layout. I am pretty useless with the medium of paint but can cope with colour pencils. I can carry colour in my head, always have been able, when I used to do dressmaking many years ago I could go into a shop and select the perfect matching thread for fabric that I left at home.

I write left-handed, but do many things with my right hand ( or foot.) I can't draw worth a lick, but am an actor and singer. My sister is very dominant left, and she is a terrific visual artist. I think there's a good body of research that indicates a strong correlation between left-handedness and both artistic talent (any type) and athleticism. What I think is interesting in my family is that both my parents are strongly right dominant. What are the odds of them having two lefty children? My oldest daughter is also left-handed, as is her oldest child, so there must be a strong genetic link going on there. It's a fascinating subject to me.

Almost 100% right handed, in fact I think the only reason I have a left hand is to maintain a pleasing balance of symmetry.

Yet, many moons ago.........too many moons to mention.........when I played football (soccer), I was predominately LEFT footed! Go figure!!!

Both of my grandchildren are lefties, their parents are both righthanded but my mother-in-law was a lefty.

Right handed. Can draw and paint quite well, play the guitar (not so well) and it os my plan, when I retire in four years, to custom build childrens wooden toys but wouldn't consider myself to be particularly artistic.
