I have been trying to run the players for both BBC and ITV but these will not play and on the checklist I am told to install Active X, together with a button to do this. When I click to install, it refuses to do so and I am returned to the command. I did download an Active X control application from Download.com but this doesn't appear to work either. Any ideas? For example, say, type eastenders in Google and choose a clip.

Got these to run eventually by clicking on a top screen accompanying banner. If anyone is trying to get these players to work, then this is what you have to do if Active X has a red cross against it.

If you don't need the the ActiveX application you got from Download.com, consider uninstalling it. The word ActveX always makes me a bit edgy. Although there's nothing wrong with it as such, it's often associated with misuse and malware. No point having anything more on the computer than necessary. See 'Safety Concerns with Active X' here.
