Suzanne Pleshette, who played Bob Newhart's wife, Emily, on the Bob Newhart Show, passed away Saturday night. She was 70.
Rest in peace, Suzanne.

I just learned of this myself, I always enjoyed her as Emily on The Newhart Show and other endearing roles. It was only last April when her husband Tom Poston died, now they are reunited again. Sorry to see you go Suzanne.

I remember her from "Blackbeard's Ghost" (1968), "The Shaggy DA," and "The Ugly Dachshund." May she rest in peace.

Sigh. I was a big fan, too (but didn't think the prognosis sounded too good for her when I first heard about her illness ). For me - and this might be something better suited to that "first crush" thread, but ... she will be burned into my memory as Annie in "The Birds". Something so earthy and solid shone through in that part (and, for some reason, I always remembered her first in terms of that film ... those birds came in at a distant second). And I loved it when she showed up as Karen's shyster Mother on "Will & Grace" . Very versatile (and too often underrated, I think) actress. And, let's not forget, she will always be 50% of one of the the most memorable "scenes" in TV history. Classy lady. One for the angels.
