Have you wondered about these questions? Recently, archeologist in Africa have found evidence dating the emergence of Modern-Homo sapiens...at 200,000 BC....the previous date given was 50,000 years-

The reason why I bring this up...is that there is an interesting Sumerian scholar, named Zecharia Sitchin, who has similarly deduced these dates via old Sumerian texts. He has traced the origins of man - to 250,000BC, from looking at the writings of the Enuma Elish. Strangely, the DNA produced here on Earth is critical in the usage of Molybenum...which a scarce element here..and old metal artifacts dating 360,000 (tested in labs) have been found in mining sites in Africa...other inconsistencies follow, a myriad of strange facts makes us wonder whether history is not concocted in some ways?

Don't get me started on this one, please. I grew up with a mother who had a million and one theories - from something about God being a Mushroom to the idea that we were genetically mutated from apes by alien intelligences.

For the second theory she can cite chapter and verse from the Bible from the Star of Bethlehem being an orbiting spaceship, as was Ezekiel's wheel of fire, to the fact that Jesus was actually an alien. The proof of this is his apparent ability to teleport and perform miracles which we would now take for granted, eg curing the sick.

Erich von Daniken is one of her favourite authors, cos he's got so much 'evidence' that we have been visited by aliens.

Alternatively you could go with Terry Pratchett's Discworld idea - that when worlds are created the gods plant strange anomalies to keep everyone guessing (I think it was dinosaur bones on the Discworld).

Me - I don't know what to believe but if anyone ever finds out I hope they'll let me know.
