You have severe cellulitis the doctor said. My facial expression I know said, "So what?" He continued, "I'm admiting you to a long term facility so you can get intensive intravenous anti-bacterial therapy." "Just because I have some dimpled fat on my upper inner thigh?" I couldn't believe it. I told the doctor that it wasn't a high traffic area; I didn't care about cellulite. "Try caring about cellulitis," he said.

Cellulitis is far from dimpled fat. It is an easily acquired infection usually occuring on the face or on the exremities. All it takes is a scratch, cut, puncture wound or similar of miniscure proportions to acquire it. If severe like mine, your leg weeps fluid that the affected muscles squeeze out to make room for the infection. Mine wasn't painful, just messy an a pain in the neck.

Do yourselves a favor. The next time you go shopping, pick up a tube of Neosporin or the like and apply it to any scratches, abrasions, etc. you acquire. Or use it generally if you undertake a task where skin irritation is prevalent.
