Here is a friend taking her grandchildren on the Watercress Line in Hampshire, which is where Thomas the Tank Engine works.

I've posted a few train type 'engines', in photo-a-day, including I recall a 'Thomas the Tank Engine'. Here's something a bit different - a Ferrari engine (drool)!

I have searched all through my cache of photos and I can't find any of our engine. But I did find one that I took of some friends truck engine a few years ago. This is a Caterpillar motor in a Peterbilt taken when the truck was entered in a beauty show which is why parts of the engine is purple. Their truck came in first place.

This is a photo of a 1928 Buick engine. The man who owns it told me that the horn is actually a 1930's horn that someone must have added later.

The horn is that cylinder in the upper right side of the engine.

LOL, djsgal, it was a truck show. Kind of like the car and motorcycle shows you see on the weekends around town except with semi's. You'd be amazed at the thousands of dollars these guys spend on parts.

And my husband really liked your photo of the Buick engine. He's a big fan of older Buicks.

Not a great shot, but here's the engine of a 1952 Allard racer, taken last July when there were oodles of classic cars gracing our main downtown street.

It is an engine but I can't remember exactly what sort, I think it was to drive a thresher or something.
