Welcome to the February photo thread. The January thread will be left open for a while to allow for World time zones. It will close it once it is February 1st for everyone. Post in either thread (but not both) until then. Thanks.

If anyone needs information on how to post photos, it can be found in the 'Photo posting guide' located at the top of the forum.

Here's a picture taken at the Christmas Market in Brussles, (The Grand Place). The buildings are simply beautiful!

Kasey, the foster dog, this afternoon... no longer scared, shivering and sniffling under a pile of old sweaters!

I've been in Warsaw for several days, so here's an image of the iconic Palace of Culture - a 'gift' from Russia during the Communist era. Loved, hated, or just tolerated, it's certainly imposing!

Here is the entrance to the small shopping centre near me. All ready for next week too.

Ren, that looks exactly the same as the supermarket up the road in a large mall called Oriental City (for obvious reasons). Unfortunately it is all going in May so in its last days.

Here's another house, this time in Edgware.

Curious to know, Ren, what's on the menu at the Hong Kong McDonald's? The usual, or something more Chinese?

This is Sioux. Usually he's scared of his own shadow, but he did greet me out at the ranch yesterday.

Well the usual , I think. Though I believe there are sometimes specials that are exotic sounding like Kungfu Burger or somesuch Heavens knows what they are! It is all very cheap here though, as it is competing with good food.

There are cows living on the land where we cycle. This is the first two-headed one I've seen there.

Hmmmm... February's looking a little unusual -- a boy named Souix and a "two-headed" cow... and then an invasion of UFO-like snow... uh-oh.

It was so grey and miserably rainy today I thought there'd be no photo from my camera -- until I had a craving for pizza... and found everything was on hand to make one. Mmmm... what a good way to eat spinach. Go ahead if you'd like... grab a plate and cut a slice or two for yourself... (unless you're scared of my cookin')

Yesterday I posted a symbol of Warsaw's communist period, so today here's a symbol of the present democratic era - or some might say 'capitalist era'
The giant guitar outside the Hard Rock Cafe in Warsaw.

This sign marks one of the centres of my territory, Henlys Corner. Named after a garage that left in the 80s and was demolished in the 90s it's the junction of the A1 from London to Scotland, the A598 from London to Finchley and the North Circular which by definition doesn't go anywhere. Especially around 5pm.

Yesterday I went to a funeral of a woman who used to be a member of a little group of us ladies who met up for dinner once a month - then she dropped out and we lost touch.

At the funeral her husband said that when they were getting married Christine had wanted a horse and carriage but it wasn't possible to arrange at that time. With this in mind he arranged for her to have a horsedrawn hearse for her final journey. He said it was remaining outside so we could see it after the service.

I had my camera in my handbag so slipped it out and took a few photos, unfortunately the sun was shining and there are reflections but I thought I would show it anyway. It is a 19th century hearse renovated.

This one shows the horses too and the driver.

Today was lovely and sunny so we went for a (breezy) walk along the clifftop. This lighthouse is for sale - £695,000 if anyone is interested. Glorious views and sunsets.

Some of the goodies we ate at my Mum's birthday party. She's 89 tomorrow, but we celebrated today so my niece could be here from Toronto to share in the party.

In the early 90s Nissan created a 1950s style version of the Micra for the Tokyo motor show. The Figaro was so popular they decided to make it as a proper car but only managed 20,000 despite 5 times or so more orders. Every one in the UK has been brought in individually from Japan, and sadly the only cars to be designed to look old since have been small production Japanese runs where the sole British import was a couple of hundred Daihatsu Mira classics in 1998. Seeing as the top end makes like Rolls and Jaguar still use old designs you'd think they'd give the poorer people a chance to choose how their cars looked as well.

I was just curious to see the result of a merger between Satguru's picture and Nightmare's motor!
