Yesterday I went to a funeral of a woman who used to be a member of a little group of us ladies who met up for dinner once a month - then she dropped out and we lost touch.
At the funeral her husband said that when they were getting married Christine had wanted a horse and carriage but it wasn't possible to arrange at that time. With this in mind he arranged for her to have a horsedrawn hearse for her final journey. He said it was remaining outside so we could see it after the service.
I had my camera in my handbag so slipped it out and took a few photos, unfortunately the sun was shining and there are reflections but I thought I would show it anyway. It is a 19th century hearse renovated.
This one shows the horses too and the driver.
