How strange that this week's theme is 'street signs' when I just happened to take this photo today. Coolcat90 is learning to drive so we went for a long drive in the country today to give her some practice. I've never seen this particular billboard before but it made me smile.

Good timing for a new driver to see the sign as well - I'd smile too! Nice catch!

Thanks Clara Sue, I've got well over 100 signs for directions and many more road names. I picked one of my favourites, the junction of Golders Green Road with the North Circular.

The scariest street sign ever. This week is the start of the 'Mart' and the busy market place has some new signs to contend with. This fair is the oldest in the country, dating back to 1537, with funfair rides and stalls taking over the Tuesday Market Place until the end of February. It is always opened by the Mayor on Valentine's Day and generally at some time in it's two week duration, it snows. The traffic continues around the market place, contending with various 'no entry', 'diversion' and 'stop' signs, never mind about the distractions of the various signs for the rides, stalls and the wayward pedestrians. Driving round this is more of a nightmare than any of the rides!

What a fantastic sign Picqero, are all signs here painted like this?

This was another tough one for me. I had so many signs to choose from but in the end I decided to share something from home. This sign is honoring 'Mr Rogers' in his hometown of Latrobe, Pennsylvania. It's also the birthplace of Arnold Palmer (the local airport is named for him) and Rolling Rock beer. Just down the road from where this was taken is another funny street named "Brakenslide". I would have a shot of that one except I'd be taking my life into my hands to stop and catch that one. Maybe another day....

I have to wonder if the extra effort to make hand painted signs here is borne out of necessity or just a way to make Morocco even more picturesque. Either way, it's impressive, as you don't see things like this everywhere. Thanks so much for sharing!

When we were in Barbados last spring, there were many of these signs announcing their hosting of the Cricket World Cup shortly after.

I took this last fall when we visited Hoover Dam. There are still a lot of security measures in place since 9/11.

I like the signs, picqero! I can only think that if they were here in the U.S., they would quickly and unfortunately be defaced by spray paint and graffiti thanks to taggers. It is nice to see something allowed to remain intact from a more peaceful area. Sandy

I just had to photograph this street sign when I was in Ottawa last year, as it reminded me of one of my oldest friends here at FunTrivia. Many of you probably know her too.

Here is mine - from our trip to Hawaii last summer (maybe we visited the same spots, Argus! ). This sign is on the way up the extinct volcano of Haleakala. You drive from near sea level to over 10,000 feet, and pass through many clouds on the way.
