Any comments regarding the recent accusation that Stephen Ambrose, one of the most famous American historians out there right now, rather blatantly lifted whole passages for his new book from another author's book that came out in 1995?

Of course, my opinion of the man has dropped considerably. Wholly unacceptable, even if the other author was credited (I am not sure if he even was) unless the passages are noted as verbatim reproductions.

Just curious if others, especially you educators out there, have the deep felt ire for this sort of thing that I do.
