I'm thinking about doing a quiz on Rammstein's song "Du Hast". As those of you who know the song and some German some German to go with it have already realized, this short ditty exemplifies some rather intriguing subtleties of the language, and I would like to focus my inquiry on this aspect of the composition. Would it be acceptable to submit this quiz in World:German, or must it go in Music:Rammstein?

Und, ja, I know this would probably be something I should ask the World folks about, but I'm posting to the public forum so others may benefit from the answer as well. Danke!

I personally think that you could get it into world, as long as the questions which are you are asking are about the language, i.e. what the lyrics demonstrate, rather than the song, i.e. artist, quoting lyrics, etc. If that's the case then it could make quite a nice, imaginative German language quiz. However, if you're going to ask about the song, definately submit it to music. Anyway, that's just my advice, but the editors can probably give you much better advice.

Well, you know we'll be happy to have it in Music, but I agree, it might work very well as a German quiz.

On the whole, the German-language skills of the majority of Rammstein fans here are negligible.
