A sort of mixed week. Sort of good and bad all mixed in together. Tuesday I had to attend a 'Board' at our Social Security department to be assessed as to the benefit they will pay me, I was last assessed a year ago and granted 90%. Quite worrying as they can cut my benefit if they wish. Today I received a letter to say it remains at 90% and is payable right until the day before my 65th birthday when I transfer to Old Age Pension. This is excellent as they will give me contribution credits which will raise my eventual pension rate. If I want to I am permitted to work with no restriction on what I can earn. This isn't an option but it does mean I am permitted to do voluntary work. Then later on Tuesday I contacted my private health insurers about getting a code number for an echocardiogram and to visit my cardiologist and they have decided that they will no longer fund such visits after this week, that I have to go on he public system. I was not happy. I saw my cardiologist today and broke the news and he was charming about it and said that he will get my notes copied over to the hospital and ask his secretary to book me in for his 'special clinic' which is only held when he is in attendance, it means I will always see him and not a junior doctor so almost as good as being a private patient. This clinic is reserved for 'interesting cases'.

I am not starting the week well.
At 9am my son (who is mentally ill) phoned to say he was mugged yesterday at knifepoint and lost his phone, his bank card, travel card and his money. On the plus side he wasn't stabbed.
Then after going to the bank to transfer some money for him I popped into the supermarket, the carpark was almost empty. When I got back to my car I discovered a huge Volvo SUV parked within six inches of my driver-side door - the carpark was still virtually empty. Some kind lady hopped into my passenger side and slid over then moved my car forward for me. I would have just waited and vented my frustration on the inconsiderate pig who trapped me but I had frozen food.
I just hope the third thing isn't anything too drastic - it normally comes in threes.

Oh Sue I am glad to hear your son was not hurt in the mugging. There is no safe place in the world anymore. How sad. Damn SUV drivers.

Good heavens, Sue. I'm so sorry to hear this, but grateful he's alive. Cold comfort, I know it sounds -but the outcome could've been so much worse.

I'm so sorry to hear about your son, Sue, that is awful, but thank God he wasn't hurt. You really needed the stunt by the idiot in the SUV on top of that! Where did courtesy and common sense go?

Good job, Ella! I enjoy hearing about your archery. Sue, so sorry to hear about your son's mugging. I'm glad he wasn't hurt. I hope your third mishap (if you DO get the third one) won't be too awfully bad.

I am so sorry to hear about your son.I am glad he wasn't hurt. As for that "PIG" who parked so close to your driver's door I would have left a "NICE" note on his windsheild! I hope the rest of your week is trouble free.

How awful about your son. Thank heavens he wasn't hurt. Still, a nasty experience though, I bet he was really shaken up. As for the driver, I too would have left a note. How inconsiderate some people can be. With inflation the way it is these days, these things only come in 2's now you know
