Pardon me... did I miss anything? Did Richard Harris die??? Oh, I hate Germany - you never get all the news from Hollywood...

I just remember another rumour I've actually known all the time, but never mentioned it here. It's about Lupin:
First: Lupin is one of my favorite characters, and I REALLY don't want him to die, but have you ever thought of the fact that Wormtail now has a silver hand... and silver kills Werewolves!!!
Well, that is, I don't know if Pettigrew's new hand is actually made of silver, or just seems to be made of it, but it's very unpleasant thought, isn't it? Poor Lupin could be in danger when he next encounters Wormtail
I hope I'm wrong!
Cheers,
Pearl

In response to the question of who will play Dumbledore now that Richard Harris passed on - I heard a rumor of Peter O'Toole playing the part and hope 100% he is chosen. He is precisely what I imagined Dumbledore to be like and sound like. However, it is nothing but a rumor.

Pearl sadly yes Richard Harris did pass away he had been ill for quite a time.

Shishkat - that is so spooky. After Harris died myself and the BF were on the train to work discussing this and he suggested Ian McKellen, but I said that was too easy as he'd played a wizard before and was in everyone's minds, my thought was of Peter O'Toole. He was of the same school as Harris. Recently in the UK he was in an ad where he played the grandfather of a young boy and it strikes me that tat is what Dumbledore is like to HP. O'Toole should be the man.

On another tangent - I watched HP and Phil. Stone today and got thinking about him being a parseltongue and his wand being related to V*******t's. Is it possible that they could be related? We know Harry's mum's sis is Mrs Dursley but was V a secret brother? Could that be why Harry's mother's love was so strong? Because it was reflected against a member of her own family???

Just my wild imaginings - what do you think?

Harry's a perselmouth because You-Know-Who's power's come of onto him

and ealier posted was a romour that Harry's mum is related to the Weasly's. i don't think can be true because Harry's mum in the movie has black hair and JKR would have told the plot to Warner Brother's so

Sorry to disappoint you, but which movie did you see? In the one I saw, Lily Potter was clearly a red-head!
But as to Voldemort, I don't think he is related to Lily or James. As I think I mentioned earlier in one of my rumors post, I think it's possible that one if them is a heir of Gryffindor.
Can't think of anything more now.

I too saw Lily as a redhead.

I don't predict this for book #5, but I think that at one point Harry and Malfoy will end up teaming up and fighting against the Dark Side together. As for one character dying - I just hope it's a distant character! Cedric's death caught me by surprise, even though he had only been mentioned a few times in book 3, but still! It had better be some harsh character that no one would mind seeing dead - I just don't know if I can take the shock of having someone prominent and a good person die again!

miaowamberg - yes, Peter O'Toole just fits Dumbledore exactly, even to the sense of humor! I always thought that Richard Harris was a little... cold... to be playing Dumbledore, but Peter would be just perfect! Let's hope he gets it, then!

One question, does anyone know when the new book will be available? I have heard that they're "for sure" planning it to be released in 2003, after January but definately not December. Has anyone heard the same, or something else?

I don't know about the release date yet, but will do some research!

Geraldine Sommerville is the actress that plays Lily Potter in the mirror erised. She is indeed a natural and very beautiful redhead. I don't think this means she'll be related to the Weasleys.

I also don't believe that Harry is a Parseltongue just because of V and his powers coming off on Harry. I think it's something to think about and maybe one of the questions that Harry will ask in the next book. JKR has now set the scene of the present day, but will have to keep going back to the past as she did in 3 and 4 to explain things.

By the way - could Harry become a shapeshifter? Wasn't James one? Something to mull over????

In that one point in the fourth book that so many of us have been confused about - that part where Dumbledore's 'eyes flashed with triumph' when Harry told him that He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named took blood from him - do you suppose that by taking blood from Harry, Voldemort could have possibly made it so that he could be killed? In all previous books it seems that it would be difficult to put him to death, but could it possibly be that he has opened a gate to his death? Just something to wonder about....

Im just jumping in here, too many threads to read, lost thread anyway as we are not JKR. Reputably, there are going to be seven books in the compilation, also, JKR has already written the 'last chapter' of the seventh book.

Cedric has already died a gruesome death, it must get better, first of all, berid of the Dursleys.

Lodge with Ron, Vol... oops you know who, drank the blood, he must get stronger.
Sirius dies
Hagrid gets a rabid bite from Fluffy, and lives
Snapes cool
Dobby helps big time, with his friends in the kitchen
Winky gets an attitude
Revolt in the kitchen
Malfoy doesn' need Crabbe and Goyle any more
Ron's Dad is going to die, but under suspicious circumstances
Ron's older brothers have more input
Hermione, she'll turn out the match for Harry
More peer pressure as usual.

Qui desiderat pacem, praeparet bellum

I think that 1) wortail dies to save harry
2) That Snape was in love with Lilly that's why he hates Harry
3)Harry and Hermione end up as Head Boy and Head girl
4)Hermione and Ron have a thing going on
5)And that lady Harry used to have to go to her house in the first book (Arrabella Fig)I think is a whitch because in the fourth book Ron's dad says he borrowed the tent from someone at the ministry and in the lats book Dumbledore says to 'round up the old gang' and mentions an Arrabella.
6) I think that Voldemort and Lilly were either related or that Voldemort loved Lilly because he said when they were in the place where the Philosiphers stone was that Harry's mother needn't have died. I think that Voldemort wanted to kill James and Harry so he could have Lilly all to himself and because he couldn't kill Harry he's going to spend his lifetime trying because he couldn't do it right in the first place.

I also read somewhere that Harry and Malfoy team up in book 5. At least I think that's what JK said in an interview

I didn't read that anywhere but I like the idea of it. Thought of it myself several times... although I'd put it that Harry and Malfoy HAVE TO team up... funny thing!

I just wanted to add something to this thread so that it appears on top of the list again Maybe there are some new people in here who still haven't seen all those rumors we posted here...
I'm SO looking forward to the fifth book; I'd love to see if some of our rumors come true!
