My guess is the perforated vent in your PC case or perhaps in the monitor.

Yeah, I'm with Lothruin. I'd say it's the vent in the PC.

A lot of you were close. Since it is 24 hours old I will tell you. They are the covers on my computer speakers perforated with little holes. Thought they made an interesting photo. Nice try everyone.

Who will be next?

I think it's a bell clapper up close.

I had a feeling this one was easy.

It is indeed a bell clapper. This bell is in old downtown Monroe, Louisiana at the start of Antique Alley, two blocks of antique stores. Antique shopping is my passion so I've been in heaven these past few days.

May I jump in? This one is sort of a trick question. There's an obvious answer, but the specific answer is harder to come by. Shapes and colors will give some clues.

OK, I don't know whether Kapuskasing has guessed rightly or not. I'm inclined to say close enough as makes no nevermind. The photo "guess" is mislabeled in wiki as a violet, when in actuality RMG has correctly identified it as a viola. My photo is not of a viola, but it IS of a violet. It's a particular variety of wild violet called a "prairie violet" or "purple prairie violet" that has lovely fern-like leaves instead of the heart shape most people immediately identify with violets, which is what makes it tricksy. I think they're lovely, and really, there's not a great deal of difference between violas and violets, is there?

No difference at all, violet is the common name whereas Viola is the actual genus. Kapuskasing got it first, I was trying to come up with the exact identity and got it wrong.

Yeppers! In fact, my violet is a Viola Pedatifida. lol I guess what I meant was, my picture is not of a viola like the variety pictured on the wiki page.
