A few books that have made me tear up have been:
"The Host" by Stephenie Meyer (absolutely amazing read)
"She's Come Undone" by Wally Lamb (another must read)
And (again) All the "Twilight" Saga books by Stephenie Meyer. I believe she may be one of the best new authors.
If anyone has any ideas of something I should read, don't be afraid to let me know

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. Beautiful, heart-wrenching, and wow.

PArts of "Veil of Darkness" and "The Cleansing Hunt" made me cry. But I still can't wait for the next one.

I have a few that made me cry. Though 2 come to mind. "At Swim, Two Boys" by Jamie O'Neill. "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte. At Swim, Two Boys is very moving, filled with so many ups and downs, the ending is what really got me. Though there are places through the book to. Well Jane Eyre got me, because I felt a lot of empathy for Jane. She leaves out of respect and returns out of love.

"Sunshine" by Norma Klein -- the fictional diary of a young mother dying of cancer. Not gloomy, not morose, but -- wow -- a killer of an ending.

My granddaughter has just started with the Green Gables series, and both of us cried our hearts out at Matthew's death, and in Rilla of Ingleside, at Jem's homecoming from war and the welcome from Little Dog Monday.
Animals get me every time !

Kira-kira. Predictable, but basically the only book that ever made me cry.

Like many, I was affected by several books already mentioned (most of them having to do with animals, such as "Where the Red Fern Grows", "Old Yeller", "Incredible Journey", "Big Red", "The Red Pony" etc.). Trust me, none of the ones that "move me" have anything to do with vampires or boy wizards ~

I read the following when I was much younger. I'm old now but there are certain books I cannot or will not read again a) because they hurt too much the first time and b) I'd hate to think that my "innocent" view of the world has changed since then and I wouldn't find them as heart wrenching:

"The Yearling" - M.K. Rawlings
"Black Like Me" - J.H. Griffin
"Beautiful Joe" - Marshall Saunders
"Who Has Seen the Wind" - W.O. Mitchell

I'm sure there are plenty of books written in recent years that would make me cry, but quite frankly, if I want that, I'll just read non-fiction. "Real life" is much sadder and more moving than any fiction can depict. Try "Follow the Rabbit-Proof Fence" by Doris Pilkington, for instance.

These days, if I'm reading for pure enjoyment, I prefer something more light-hearted/humourous : )
