I have only read a couple, including her most famous ones: "And Then There Were None", "Death on the Nile" and "The A.B.C. Murders". I liked "And Then There Were None", but frankly, the book gave me nightmares for days, and made me increasingly paranoid. I don't really like the Miss Marple mysteries, but I do like the Hercule Poirot ones. I like all the Agatha Christie books I've read, except "The A.B.C Murders", because it was really confusing and to be honest, kind of boring. The ones I've read include: " Peril At End House", "Funerals Are Fatal", "The Body in the Library", "Three Blind Mice and other stories", "Murder on the Links", "Hickory Dickory Dock", "Why Didn't They Ask Evans?", "The Secret Adversary", "The Mirror Crack'd", "Third Girl", "Poirot Investigates", "The Hollow" and "The Man in the Brown Suit".

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, because it keeps you thinking right to the very end.

Roger Ackroyd is good.
I think it's Peril at End House that I like most because I think it's got a real twist at the end, but maybe it's another book. It's year since I read them.

I believe I've read all the Christie-novels, short stories. In fact, I'm having loads of fun rereading her books now--after about a 15 year break. I love Then There Were None, The Murder Of Roger Ackroyd amd Murder n The Orient Express best of all. But I really have enjoyed all her books--except Final Curtain. Even though I don't blame Dame Agatha for writing it--her reasons were obvious--still, it was sad. Has anyone read the two Christie mysteries adapted as novels from the plays Black Coffee and The Unexpected Guest by Charles Osbourne? They are really quite good. ![[Smile]](images/icons/smile.gif)

I'll be SO embarrassed if Christie didn't write this, but---my fav is a short story called 'Witness for the Prosecution'. The last sentence changes everything!

I read everything she wrote, several times but not for some years so cannot confirm or deny whether she wrote that story. Some years ago I owned the full set of her books but gave them away to make room in my bookshelves.
Miss Marple appealed to me but as my daughter has commented, you really wouldn't want to go anywhere near the woman as you could end up as a murder victim - I am not sure that she didn't think Miss Marple killed them all herself. It really was far-fetched for one person (other than a policeman or detective) to come across so many murders but that is fiction for you, the most unlikely situations are permitted.
As for choosing a favourite, I don't remember them well enough to have one.

I haven't read all of the Agathas yet, but so far my favorite is "The Man in the Brown Suit". The reason is that it reminds me of Nancy Drew- a young girl looking for adventure happens upon a mystery in an exotic setting. Although I like Miss Marple, I like Poirot much better. Definitely my least favorite so far is "At Bertram's Hotel", a Miss Marple story. This was sooo boring.- Debby (Bullymom)

I posted earlier to say that Peril at End House was good - but I got confused, the book of Agatha's which kept me guessing and shocked me was called Crooked House. It isn't a Poirot or Marple mystery, but it is really well written and for it's time was extremely shocking. For anyone that has not read it, then I'd recommend it.
The first Agatha book I read when I was about 13 was called something like Murder is Easy and I really enjoyed it. That's what I like about her books - you can read them as a teenager and you can read them as a pensioner, and you still get enjoyment!!

I really can't say why, but my favorite is "The Pale Horse". It's neither Poirot, nor Miss Marple, nor Tommy & Tuppence or any other of Agatha's detectives (though MRS. OLIVER plays a role).
I have read loads of her books, and I like many of them. Some favorites include "Death on the Nile", "Murder on the Orient Express", "The ABC Murders", "Peril at End House", "Lord Edgware Dies", "Hercule Poirot's Christmas", "Dead Man's Folly", and "The Seven Dials Mystery", to name a few. I can't think of a book I didn't like...
The one set in Ancient Egypt is "Death Comes As The End", btw.
Whoa, and of course, I loved "And Then There Were None"!

Favourite book with no main detective - And then there were none. Seriously scary! Miss Marple - Murder is Announced Poirot - Roger Ackroyd (I was completely fooled by it!) Tommy and Tuppence - N or M? I just LOVE Agatha Christie books and audio tapes

All Christie books are good. Listening to Ordeal by Innocence at the moment, never read it.

I'm not a big fan of Agatha Christie's novels, but I've read some of them. My favorite is "And Then There None", and it's wit has served as inspiration in many movies and TV series. I also liked "Murder in the Orient Express", though I don't like Poirot's character much.

i think that cards on the table is one of her best. Even though there are only the four suspects she keeps you guessing which is it and changing your mind right up to the end.
I also really liked Murder in Mesopotania - its interesting because there is a long time before the murder is committed and in that time she really makes you hate the person who is murdered so you dont feel a lot of sympathy for the victim!
